    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of exhibiting excellent (weather-resistant) adhesivity without deteriorating the physical properties of cured products, useful for sealing heat reflecting glass, etc., by adding specific compounds such as a silane coupling agent to a saturated hydrocarbon polymer having reactive silicone groups. SOLUTION: This curable composition comprises (A) a saturated hydrocarbon polymer having OH or hydrolyzable groups bound to Si atoms and having Si-containing groups capable of forming siloxane bonds to crosslink the polymer e.g. the polymer having a number-average mol.wt. of 500-5,000 and having groups of the formula [R , R are each a 1-20C alkyl, a 6-20C aryl, etc.; X is OH, a hydrolyzable group; (a) is 0-3; (b) is 0-2; (a), (b) are each simultaneously not 0; (m) is 0-19] at the ends of the main chain or at the side chains}, (B) a silane coupling agent (e.g. the agent having an isocyanate group or an epoxy group), and (C) a compound having an unsaturated group capable of reacting with oxygen in air to polymerize, or a photopolymerizable substance [e.g. a drying oil, a (meth)acrylate].

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a coating material for vehicle which can be cured even under conditions of low-temperature baking to form a thin tough coating film excellent in rust-preventive properties, chipping resistance and vibration-damping properties by using a saturated hydrocarbon polymer having specified reactive silicon groups. CONSTITUTION:This material comprises a saturated hydrocarbon polymer having an Si-bonded hydroxyl or hydrolyzable group and at least one silicon-containing group (reactive silicon group) being capable of being cross-linked by forming a siloxane bond. A representative example of the reactive silicon group is a group represented by the formula (wherein R and R are each 1-20C alkyl, 6-20C aryl or the like, provided that they may be the same or different from each other; X is a hydroxyl or hydrolyzable group; a is 0, 1, 2 or 3; b is 0, 1 or 2; a+mb>=1; and m is or an integer of 1-19). It is desirable that the polymer which constitutes the skeleton of the above polymer is an isobutylene polymer or hydrogenated polybutadiene.
