Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field emission type electron source, particularly a field emission type electron source in which carbon nanotubes are used. SOLUTION: The field emission type electron source includes a substrate and a carbon nanotube needle with a first end and a second end. The first end of the carbon nanotube needle is electrically connected with the substrate. In the second end of the carbon nanotube needle, one carbon nanotube is extended out farther than other carbon nanotubes. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emitting element and its manufacturing method and, specifically, an electron emitting element using a carbon nanotube and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The electron emitting element contains a conductive base material having a tip end, a carbon nanotube having a first end part and a second end part and a metal membrane. The first end part of the carbon nanotube is connected with the tip end of the conductive base material and the second end part of the carbon nanotube is extended from the tip end of the conductive base material.
