Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device capable of accurate and good-response action. SOLUTION: Ball screws mutually oppositely formed are provided on two layers of the inner peripheral side and the outer peripheral side of a rotor body 5. When the body 5 is rotated, the inner body 3 and the outer body 4 move linearly accurately in proportion to the rotation of the body 5. Since the screws are formed in mutually opposite directions in an inner peripheral side ball rolling surface 11 and an outer peripheral side ball rolling surface 15, the inner body 3 as well as the outer body 4 move linearly in mutually opposite directions, with a disc 1 is held therebetween. Since both the bodies 3, 4 are moved linearly, a distance between the bodies 3, 4 are increased or decreased at the speed two times the case where any one of them are moved.
