Abstract: PURPOSE:To specify the failure part position in an evaporative system, in the failure diagnostic device of an evaporative purge system formed in such constitution that evaporation fuel in an internal combustion engine is adsorbed by adsorbent in a canister so as to discharge adsorbed fuel toward the intake air system of the internal combustion engine under prescribed operating condition. CONSTITUTION:An inner pressure control valve 29 for controlling the pressure in a tank at a constant value and a check VSV30 for making operation of the inner pressure control valve 29 valid or invalid, are provided on a passage from a fuel tank 21 to a canister 32. A micro computer 40, stores before hand the reference pressure value for each part in an evaporative system when it has any trouble, and a failure part position is judged by comparing the pressure values of a pressure sensor 31 when the inner pressure control valve 29, the check VSV30, and the purge VSV34 are opening/closing controlled respectively, with a stored reference pressure value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the false detection of an abnormal cylinder in the operation transient condition of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:This is a gasoline engine system where an engine ECU3O deduces the revolution ripple of a revolution sensor 25, based on the detection results of a revolution sensor 25, which detects the revolution of an engine 1, and when the deduction result is over the specified judged value, it judges it to be misfire of a corresponding cylinder, and performs the processing such as lightening an misfire pilot lamp 12, etc. When the operation of the engine 1 is in the transient condition such as execution of increase in quantity for warm up, quick acceleration and deceleration, warm up lag angle, etc., in this engine system, this changes the judged value for judgment of a misfire into the value which is hardly judged to be an accidental fire. Hereby, when the operation of an engine is in the transient condition accompanied with the revolution ripple, the judgment is performed by a gentle judgment value, and the false judgment of a misfire cylinder can be avoided.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect something wrong with an evaporative purge system so accurately by performing the redjugment of trouble after adsorbing a vapor to an adsorbent in a canister. CONSTITUTION:When a variation in both cases of purge gas content between before purge execution and during its execution is a specified value, namely, less than the value making an air-fuel ratio variation by a purge judgeable, any purge execution in once suspended. When vapor fuel out of a fuel tank 7 is normal, at a time when it ought to be sufficiently adsorbed to an adsorbent in a canister or a point of time when it is reached to pressure in the fuel tank 7, a trouble judgment by means of a trouble judging means 10 is made so as to be redone. Accordingly, when a purge system is abnormal, the trouble judgment can be done after having the vapor sufficiently adsorbed to the adsorbent in the canister. With this constitution, something wrong with the purge system is accurately detectable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To properly detect an abnormal cylinder by correcting the allowable range according to the load, offsetting the variation portion of the degree of the angular speed variation according to the load, and judging the degree of the angular speed variation, thus eliminating the influence of the load. CONSTITUTION:The angular speed variation generated on an output shaft during the preceding and succeeding explosion processes is detected in each explosion cycle by an angular speed variation detecting means M1. An abnormal cylinder detecting means M2 calculates the degree of the angular speed variation in each cylinder on the basis of the angular speed variation, and the cylinder outside an allowable range is detected as abnormal cylinder. In this detection, an allowable range correcting means M4 corrects the allowable range according to the load of the internal combustion engine which is detected by a load detecting means M3. The allowable range is spread and contracted according to the increase and decrease of the load of the internal combustion engine. Accordingly, the abnormal cylinder detecting means M2 detects the abnormal cylinder through the offset of the variation portion of the angular speed variation due to the load, and the proper detection of the abnormal cylinder which is not influenced by the load can be realized.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform a precise knock control by converting the knock deciding level responding to the relative amount of the rounds in which the maximum value of the knock sensor signals in a specific area exceeds two or more comparison levels. CONSTITUTION:In an ECU 4, a microcomputer 45 detects the maximum value of the signal of a knock sensor 3 which detects the knocking through a peak hold circuit 43 in a specific area. And two or more correction levels to correct the knock deciding level obtained at an averaging circuit 44 and the maximum value are compared, and the rounds that the maximum value exceeds the each correction level are counted. Then the knock deviding levels are corrected according to the amount of the each counted value. In this case, when the corrected knock deciding level is less than a specific lower limit value, the knock deciding level is set at the lower limit value, and when the knock deciding level is fixed at the lower limit value successively for a specific time, the ignition time is set in a specific lag angle. In such a way, a precise knock control can be performed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain the result of determination irrespective of fluctuation factor, and prevent the hunting, by providing means for fixing the result of determination by all of delay determining means to a low supercharged pressure region when the accumulated result of determination by the delay determining means for every engine speed region indicates the low supercharged pressure region. CONSTITUTION:A delay determining means 3 having a threshold value of a retard quantity corresponding to an engine speed is provided for every engine speed region. The delay determining means 3 compares the threshold value with an actual delay quantity detected by a delay detecting means 2 to determine whether a supercharged pressure region is a high supercharged pressure region or a low supercharged pressure region. Then, the result of determination is accumulated every engine speed region. If it is determined by a determined means 5 that the accumulated result is the low supercharged pressure region is two or more engine speed regions, a supercharged pressure control means 6 is moved to the low supercharged pressure region, while if the accumulated result is the low supercharged pressure region in one or less engine speed region, the control means 6 is moved to the high supercharged pressure region. Simultaneously, in the case of the low supercharged pressure region, the result of determination by each engine speed region determining means 3 is fixed to the low supercharged pressure region by a determination result fixing means 7. Accordingly, even when a detection value of a knocking sensor is fluctuated, an error of determination may be avoided to prevent the hunting.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To smoothly change a supercharged pressure and thereby improve the drivability, by controlling the supercharged pressure according to a corrected retard angle blunted by a blunting degree to be changed according to an engine load. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 64 is provided to compute a difference DELTA(Q/NE) between a present value and a previous value of Q/NE representing an engine load as obtained from a suction air quantity Q and an engine speed NE which are actually measured by an air flow meter 34 and a second crank angle sensor 69, respectively. Then, computed is a blunting degree stored as a map for DELTA(Q/NE) in a memory 64b. Using the blunting degree set to be the larger, the more rapid a change rate of the load is, a blunted value of a corrected retard angle for ignition timing is computed. According to the blunted value of the corrected retard angle, a duty ratio in driving duty signals for a solenoid 58 of a bleed control valve 56 is computed from the map stored in the memory 64b.

CONSTITUTION:An EGR control valve 14 is arranged inside an EGR passage 12 which connects an exhaust manifold 6 to a surge tank 7. When an engine cooling water temperature becomes higher than a set temperature, a shut-off valve 35 is opened so as to start supply of EGR gas. A temperature sensor 37 for detecting the temperature inside the EGR passage 12 is arranged in the EGR passage 12. When the engine cooling water temperature is slightly lower than the set temperature and when the temperature inside the EGR passage 12 becomes higher than the set temperature, it is judged that sure trouble is generated in the EGR controller 13.
