Abstract: 【課題】アルキル化ヒドロキシ芳香族化合物の過塩基性硫化塩を提供する。
【解決手段】アルキル化ヒドロキシ芳香族化合物の過塩基性硫化塩を、下記の工程を含む方法により製造する:(a)ヒドロキシ芳香族化合物を、約10乃至約40の炭素原子を有する直鎖アルファオレフィンを異性化して得られた約15乃至約99質量%の分岐を有する異性化オレフィンでアルキル化し、アルキル化ヒドロキシ芳香族化合物を生成させる工程;(b)上記アルキル化ヒドロキシ芳香族化合物を、任意の順序で中和および硫化し、中和された硫化アルキル化ヒドロキシ芳香族化合物を生成させる工程;そして(c)中和された硫化アルキル化ヒドロキシ芳香族化合物を過塩基化する工程。

Abstract: A marine diesel cylinder lubricant composition for a marine diesel engine running on fuel having a sulphur content of less than 1.5%, the composition having a total base number, as determined according to ASTM D2896, of more than 30 and less than 70, and comprising at least 40 wt % of an oil of lubricating viscosity, and at least one detergent prepared from at least two surfactants, one of which is a salicylate. The marine diesel cylinder lubricant composition demonstrates good ability to reduce deposit formation, especially on pistons. The marine diesel cylinder lubricant composition also demonstrates good lubrication at temperatures above 250° C.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in refrigerating cycle equipment using a refrigerant mainly composed of hydrofluoroolefin, where a metal constitutive of the cycle acts as a catalyst so that refrigerator oil or a refrigerant having a carbon double bond is decomposed and polymerized, which causes possibilities of compressor failure or reduction of refrigerating capacity due to loss of refrigerant flow in the refrigerating cycle.SOLUTION: A refrigerant and refrigerator oil 103 are tightly sealed in a sealed container 101, wherein the refrigerant includes either a hydrofluoroolefin having a carbon double bond in the composition, or a mixture of the hydrofluoroolefin as the base component with a hydrofluorocarbon having no double bond; and at least one kind among benzotriazole, zinc dialkyldithiophosphates, dialkyl selenium, metal phenates and organic nitrogen compounds is contained in the refrigerator oil 103.

Abstract: A grease composition having a base oil and a thickener, which grease additionally has from 0.05% to 30% by weight of sodium thiosulphate and at least 0.1% by weight of one or more additives selected from the group of: calcium salicylate, magnesium salicylate, calcium phenate, and calcium sulphonate, based on the total grease composition, and use of the grease composition to improve rust prevention and abrasion resistance. The invention also relates to a method for preparing the grease composition.

Abstract: A lubricating oil composition comprises a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity to which is added a minor amount of an oil soluble ashless dispersant, an oil soluble overbased metal detergent, an oil soluble sulfur and/or phenolic antioxidant and/or aromatic amine anti-oxidant. A lubricating oil composition (I) comprises a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity to which is added a minor amount of an oil soluble ashless dispersant, an oil soluble overbased metal detergent, an oil soluble sulfur and/or phenolic antioxidant and/or aromatic amine anti-oxidant. The surfactant system of the metal detergent is derived from at least one or at least two different surfactants (preferably a salicylate). The total base number of the composition is at least 10 (preferably at least 20) and the viscosity index is at least 90 (preferably at least 100, especially at least 105). An independent claim is also included for lubricating a marine diesel engine by supplying (I) to the engine.

SOLUTION: A trunk piston marine engine lubricating oil composition for a medium-speed compression-ignited marine engine comprises or is prepared by mixing, in a major amount, an oil having lubricating viscosity and containing ≥50 mass% of a Group II base stock, and, in respective minor amounts, (A) an overbased metal hydrocarbyl-substituted hydroxybenzoate detergent having ≤4.5 basicity index, and (B) an overbased metal hydrocarbyl-substituted hydroxybenzoate detergent having >4.5 basicity index. The ratio of detergent (A) to detergent (B), both expressed as mass of active ingredient, is in the range of 0.5 to 15. The trunk piston marine engine lubricating oil composition includes a TBN (the total base number using ASTM D2896) of 20 to 60.
