Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing system for reproducing only specific information, by use of a portable recording medium.SOLUTION: A reproducing apparatus includes a reproducing unit for reproducing data for a recording medium inserted therein, a storage unit which stores permission identification information; and a control unit. The control unit detects medium identification information recorded to be non-rewritable during recording medium manufacturing process by a recording system different from that of data mainly recorded on the recording medium, from the inserted recording medium. Only when the detected medium identification information coincides with the permission identification information stored in the storage unit, the reproducing unit is permitted to reproduce data on the recording medium.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a write-once optical recording medium (1), which in addition to the write-once properties also has rewritable properties. According to the invention, this object is achieved by an optical recording medium (1) with a recording layer (4) having at least a first recording sublayer (R1) and a second recording sublayer (R2) for recording information marks (3) by alloying material of the at least first and second recording layers (R1, R2), wherein the materials of the at least first and second recording sublayers (R1, R2) are chosen such that the alloyed material is a phase-change material adapted for recording additional data as phase changes of the alloyed material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a format of a recordable optical recording medium (10), which is designed in such a way that it can be read by any standard player and recorder. The optical recording medium (10) has a recording layer (2) with a structure of lands (5) and grooves (4), which generates a strong push-pull signal in an area of the recording layer (2) without recorded marks (6) and a small push-pull signal in an area of the recording layer (2) with recorded marks (6).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase operation efficiency of data recording and reading on a multi layer optical disk.SOLUTION: An optical disk has plural recording layers formed thereon, and each of the recording layers has several continuous recording regions formed on the basis of recording purpose. Receiving an instruction to record a data in a specified address on the optical disk, when a replacement processing occurs, a replacement processing section determines a next recording address having the shortest distance between the next recording address in a radial direction of the optical disk and the specified address in the next recording addresses in the continuous recording regions on the recording layers as a replacement target of the specified address. With this, even when a replacement processing occurs, the data is recorded in a position as closer to the specified address as possible in a radial direction and the operation efficiency is increased when recording or reading data. The art is applicable to a recording and reproducing device.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily achieve additional recording while minimizing the reduction of the recording capacity of an optical disk.SOLUTION: In an optical recording method for recording data in an optical disk having a recording layer in which data can be recorded and a guide layer in which a line guide track and a group guide track for tracking are disposed as a double spiral track, when one of the line guide track and the group guide track is defined as a first guide track, and the other is defined as a second guide track, data are continuously recorded as a first data track in the recording layer under tracking control aiming at the first guide track, and after the end of the recording of the first data track for the whole length of the first guide track, the tracking control aiming at the first guide track is switched to tracking control aiming at the second guide track, and the data are recorded as a second data track in the recording layer.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method implemented using a data recording system.SOLUTION: The method includes receiving a micro-holographic data storage medium comprising a micro-hologram track having a first cross-sectional area. The method further includes recording data in the micro-hologram track to form a data track in the micro-hologram track having a second cross-sectional area smaller than the first cross-sectional area.
