Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the size of a lighting spot U to be changed without rearranging an aperture unit. SOLUTION: The variable-aperture inspection optical system comprises: a variable-aperture unit 13 having a polygonal transmission part; and light collecting optical systems 12a, 12b for forming the lighting spot of light passed through the variable-aperture unit 13 at the position of a sample S. The variable-aperture unit 13 changes the shape and size of its polygon. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate motion picture quality of a display by using a motion picture evaluation index easy to be intuitively understood. SOLUTION: Measuring patterns are moved on the display to allow a visual field of an image sensor to follow the measuring patterns, thereby taking an image of the measuring patterns. Based upon the image taken, a motion picture response curve is determined. Next, the motion picture response curve obtained is converted into a MTF (Modulation Transfer Function). A specified space frequency value N_Sf (a%) is obtained which begins to lower from the brightest part of the MTF at a given rate. By using the specified space frequency value N_Sf (a%), the motion picture quality of the display is evaluated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
