Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect multiple fault occurrences and continue communication without increasing the number of passing repeaters of a supervisory frame even when faults occur respectively in a shared link portion and a non-shared link portion on a ring which monitors a shared link in a multi-ring structure. SOLUTION: In a communication network containing a repeater, a monitoring device and a shared link terminal device, when a link fault is detected, each device sends a fault detection frame into a ring upon fault occurrence, and delivers link fault information to shared link terminal devices 1102, 1108. The shared link terminal devices 1102, 1108 produce a link fault information management database, and determine the presence of multiple faults. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a fairness guarantee of communication traffic executed in an RPR (Resilient Packet Ring.IEEE802. 17) ring even in an inter-ring connection. SOLUTION: Respective pieces of information of a transmission source address, a service class, a fairness bit and a ring transfer direction as well as transmission weight control information to be used for fairness control from RPR control information of an arrival packet are extracted, packets with a fairness bit being "0" are temporarily stored in an output queue in each different service class, packets with a fairness bit being "1" are weighted on the basis of the transmission weight control information and temporarily stored in an output queue in each different transmission source and ring transfer direction, and packet reading from the output queue in the each different class is performed more preferentially than packet reading from the output queue in the each different transmission source and ring transfer direction. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for achieving high-speed path switching and flexible network construction by connecting a plurality of ring networks. SOLUTION: A monitoring device and the other repeaters are configured as devices constituting a ring network. The monitoring device monitors only a ring state of a ring network to which the monitoring device itself belongs. The monitoring device periodically transmits respective health check frames from a ring port and monitors whether a ring port at the opposite side receives the health check frames. In the configuration of a multi-ring network with a shared link, two shared devices respectively and periodically transmit an auxiliary health check frame to a monitoring device of a shared link non-monitoring ring. The monitoring device monitors the auxiliary check frame as well as the health check frame to thereby prevent a loop that spreads over a plurality of ring networks. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
