PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sequentially convey veneer one by one into a next process by separating the uppermost veneer from the second veneer. SOLUTION: A cylinder 51 is operated to lift the veneer 23 nipped and held together with a claw 35 through a vertically traveling plate 47 as shown in (a) in the drawing. Next, as shown in (b) in the drawing, a rotary plate 55 is rotated in the clockwise direction which is the direction of arrow mark from a start position, a horizontally traveling member 53 retracts and moves in the direction of arrow mark so that an end face 23b in the direction of fiber of the veneer 23 crosses from a regulation face 63a, and air is supplied into a discharge port 63b to blow air between the veneer 23 and the second veneer 23a. Then, as shown in (c) in the drawing, the horizontally traveling member 53 advances and moves in the direction of arrow mark which is the direction reverse to retraction and moving, and then nipping and holding of the veneer 23 by the claw 35 are released to convey the veneer 23 into the next process by a feeding roll 21. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a veneer feeding method for feeding veneer cut by a veneer lathe to a drying process along the same feed direction as an initial feed direction while reversing the fiber direction of the veneer within a horizontal plane, and a feed apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: At least a pair of turntables are provided before and behind a feed direction at a definite interval and the veneers, which are fed so as to be adjacent to each other at a certain interval, are transferred to the turntables at every set comprising an arbitrary number of the veneers while converted in their feed directions by about 90°. The turntable surfaces, on which a plurality of rollers are rotatably supported at a certain interval with respect to the feed direction, are installed on the turntables. By rotating the turntables by about 90° centering around a pivot after the veneers are transferred, the veneers on the turntable surfaces are directionally converted to the same direction as the initial feed direction by one set while making the fiber direction of the veneers parallel to the feed direction. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a veneer supply method for efficiently supplying veneer by shortening the supply interruption time of the veneer to a veneer treatment apparatus for a next process, and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The veneer is supplied by repeating a process 1 for moving a second support to the non-support part due to the first support of the undersurface of the lowermost veneer positioned on a veneer group when the veneers of the veneer group becomes a preset number, a process 2 for supporting the veneer group by the second support, a process 3 for taking out the uppermost venner on the veneer group supported by the second support and lowering the first support to a predetermined position before supporting a new veneer group on the first support, a process 4 for moving the first support upwardly to oppose the uppermost layer of the veneer group to the lowermost layer of the veneer group on the second support, a process 5 for moving the second support to the non-support position of the veneer group to superpose the veneer group on the uppermost layer of the veneer group of the first support and moving the first support to set the uppermost layer of the veneer group to a taking-out position and a process 6 for successively taking out the uppermost veneer of the veneer group and appropriately moving the first support so that the uppermost layer keeps an up and down same position. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for joining veneers by which their satisfactory joining process is more efficiently performed, compared with the conventional method, and a joining device used in the performance of the joining method. SOLUTION: The joining edges Te of a preceding veneer T and a following veneer T are set in close proximity to each other, in the process of conveying the veneer T in an orthogonal direction with the joining edge Te to which the veneer T is joined. At the same time, an adhesive material Sd is supplied into a gap between the edges Te, then an adhesion promoting action is imparted to the adhesive material Sd and thus the veneers T are sequentially joined together. In this case, in the adhesion promoting region (a line Z1 to a line Z2) set to the downstream side of the, conveying direction from an edge approaching position U in the veneer conveyance route, it is possible to impart the adhesion promoting action through an adhesion promoting member 6 which freely moves forward/backward even when the veneer T is conveyed and stopped. Besides, the joining edge is bonded by imparting the adhesion promoting action, to begin with, to the adhesive material Sd supplied for bonding the joining edge always located closest, among the joining edges not yet bonded arriving at the adhesion promoting region, to the downstream side of the conveying direction. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration machine for measuring Young's modulus in wood such as veneer that reliably gives perpendicular vibration to the wood such as veneer from a first mobile unit, at the same time detects that the first mobile unit has given perpendicular vibration by a first acceleration detector, and accurately obtains the propagation speed of the perpendicular vibration in the wood such as veneer for accurately measuring the Young's modulus, to provide a vibration reception machine for measuring the Young's modulus of wood such as veneer that freely moves in a direction away from the wood even if a second mobile unit is in contact with the wood such as veneer, appropriately vibrates and receives perpendicular vibration from the wood such as veneer, and to provide a measuring instrument of Young's modulus in the wood such as veneer that can efficiently and accurately measure the Young's modulus in the wood such as veneer in a transport state. SOLUTION: The first mobile unit is reciprocated toward the wood such as veneer in contact with the wood such as veneer. The acceleration of the first mobile unit is detected by reciprocation by the first acceleration detection that is provided at the first mobile unit. Force toward the wood such as veneer is applied to the first mobile unit by an actuation member, thus generating perpendicular vibration when measuring the Young's modulus in the wood such as veneer.
