Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the construction of a fuel pump.
SOLUTION: A cylindrical housing 12 for the fuel pump 11 is constructed by pressing an inside housing 16 into the inner periphery of an outside housing 15, and an engagement protrusion 17 is formed at one end of the inside housing 16. By applying caulking to the lower end of the outside housing 15 to form a fixed edge 21, the outer periphery of a pump portion 13 is inserted and fixed between a stepped portion 19 on the lower side of the housing 12 and the fixed edge 21. By applying caulking to the upper end of the outside housing 15 to form a fixed edge 20, a bearing holder 29 and the outer periphery of a pump cover 33 are inserted and fixed between a stepped portion 18 on the upper side of the housing 12 and the fixed edge 20 and at the same time a magnet 26 is inserted and fixed between the bearing holder 29 and the engagement protrusion 17. Thus, the magnet 26 is fixed in the state of being positioned in the axial direction by the bearing holder 29 and the engagement protrusion 17.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bobbin 1 which can prevent irregular winding of an armature coil 5 and thereby can improve winding efficiency, even in the case where the armature coil 5 is wound with the higher area occupancy. SOLUTION: The bobbin 1 has a hollow body 1A, to which an armature coil 5 is wound, and it is then built into an internal core by inserting the tooth of the internal core into the hollow part 1a of the body 1A. Both side surfaces of the body 1A in the circumferential direction is formed in a required smallest thickness t1 to assure the winding area as wide as possible. Meanwhile, the winding space is provided at both end-surfaces of the body 1A in the longitudinal direction, to provide a larger winding space toward the external circumferential side from the internal circumferential side, so that the thickness to the sloping surface from the hollow part 1a becomes larger toward the internal circumferential side from the internal circumferential side. The armature coil 5 is wound to gradually increase the number of winding stages of the coil wire 5a toward the external circumferential side, starting from the internal circumferential side of the body 1A.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct current electric motor capable of suppressing power consumption in the case that a ring-like magnet 2 can be firmly fixed on a yoke 1 and it is used for a motor-driven fuel pump. SOLUTION: A fixing hole 3 for fixing the magnet 2 is formed on the yoke 1. The fixing hole 3 is penetrated from the inner peripheral face to the outer peripheral face in the direction of the plate thickness of the yoke 1, and an opening diameter opened in the outer peripheral face is set larger than an opening diameter opened in the inner peripheral face. The magnet 2 mixes magnetic powder with a resin, is a plastic magnet molded in the form of a ring, integrally molded with the yoke 1, a part thereof is inserted in the fixing hole 3 of the yoke 1, and has a slip stop structure 4. According the structure, a part of the magnet 2 molded integrally with the yoke 1 is fitted to the fixing hole 3 of the yoke 1, since the outer peripheral side of the fitting part is larger than the inner peripheral side, after molding, even when the magnet 2 is contracted, it is firmly fixed on the yoke 1 without being slipped off from the yoke 1.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature core which is able to secure a required mechanical strength and reduce leakage of magnetic flux by the magnetic resistance between adjacent 18a made higher. SOLUTION: The armature core is divided into an inner core 18 and an outer core 19. The inner core 18 includes a plurality of teeth 18a radially arranged and links the inner circumferential ends of respective teeth 18a are linked in an annular form. The outer core 19 has a plurality of magnetic poles 19a provided corresponding to respective teeth 18a and a plurality of links 19b which connect the magnetic poles 19a adjoined each other in a circumferential direction. In a core sheet used in the outer core 19, the wall thickness of the links 19b is arranged to be thinner than that of the magnetic poles 19a. With this construction, as the cross sectional area of the links 19b of the outer core 19 can be made smaller, the magnetic resistance of the links 19b becomes larger and the magnetic flux amount leaked between the adjacent teeth 18a via the links 19b can be made smaller.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve pump efficiency by reducing the axial size of a fuel pump and decreasing slide resistance for positioning the axial direction of an armature. SOLUTION: The armature 38 of a motor part 33 is supported on a fixed shaft 41 fixed at the central part of a housing 31 and held in a state to bring a brush 51 into contact with a commutator segment 50, situated on the end face on the opposite side to a pump part 32 of the armature 38, through the force of a spring 52. A bearing member 46 interposed between the fixed shaft 41 and the end part on the commutator segment 50 side of the armature 38 is fixed on the armature 38 side, the bearing member 46 is rotatably and axially slidably inserted in the fixed shaft 41. By bringing the end face in the axial direction of the bearing member 46 into contact with the slide surface 53 of a brush holder 43 in a position where the axial center of the armature 38 is offset to the pump part 33 side from the axial center of a magnet 39, positioning in the axial direction of the armature 38 is effected.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DC brush motor in which the rotational speed of the motor can be varied at low cost through a system generating no electromagnetic wave noise. SOLUTION: In correspondence with commutator segments 29 arranged radially around a rotary shaft 23, conduction brushes 30 and short circuit brushes 31 are arranged alternately at a pitch of 90 deg. around the rotary shaft 23. The conduction brush 30 normally slides on the commutator segment 29 and the short circuit brush 31 moves between a position sliding on the commutator segment 29 and a separated position. When the short circuit brush 31 slides on the commutator segment 29, the DC motor is operated under a state where a part of coils 25 is short-circuited and the number of turns of conduction coil of the entire motor is decreased thus increasing the rotational speed of the motor. When the short circuit brush 31 separates from the commutator segment 29, all coils 25 is conducted. Consequently, the number of turns of conduction coil of the entire motor is increased thus decreasing the rotational speed of the motor.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease costs by making a plurality of pump portions with fewer parts.
SOLUTION: An inner gear 27, a circular intermediate gear 28, and a circular outer gear 29 are arranged together eccentrically forming two pump portions 12, 13. When a motor portion simultaneously rotates the three gears 27 through 29, the engagement amount of the trochoid teeth of each of the gears 27 through 29 continuously increases and decreases such that the capacity of each pump chamber 31, 32 formed between each of the gears 27 through 29 repeatedly increases and decreases with one rotation being a cycle. As a result, in the pump chambers 31, 32 in which the capacity is increasing, fuel is transferred while being sucked in from each intake port. The transferred fuel is then discharged from each discharge port in the pump chambers 31, 32 in which the capacity is decreasing. With a pump portion 12 (pump chamber 31) on the inner peripheral side, fuel in the first fuel storage area is transferred to the second fuel storage area. With the pump portion 13 (pump chamber 32) on the outer peripheral-side, fuel in the second fuel storage area is fed to the fuel injection valve side.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commutator excellent in durability by adopting a carbon material. SOLUTION: A fuel pump 10 is constituted of a pump part 20 and a motor part 30 for driving the pump part 20. Fuel transferred from the pump part 20 to the inside of the motor part 30 by exerting pressure is exhausted from a fuel exhaustion port 43 to an engine. A contact part 62 of a commutator 60 slidingly engaging a brush is formed by adding amorphous carbon to natural carbon. Hence, mechanical strength of the contact part 62 is enhanced to decrease an amount of abrasion due to sliding engagement with the brush. Thereby, the lifetime needed to reach the abrasion limit of the contact part 62 is prolonged to improve durability of the fuel pump 10. Moreover, inexpensive natural carbon can be adopted to reduce a manufacturing cost of the commutator 60.

SOLUTION: A flow control valve 10, comprising a housing 12, a movable part 14, a compression coil spring 16 and a coil 18, is constituted in an integral unit with or a separate unit from a fuel pump. The movable part 14 consisting of magnetic material is attracted to the downstream of fuel against energizing force of the compression coil spring 16 by electromagnetic attractive force generated by carrying a current in the coil 16. Then, an opening of the first communication path 15, closed by an internal wall 12e of a slide hole 12b in the housing 12, communicates with the second communication path 13 of the housing 12. In this way, a discharge passage 19, comprising the first/second communication paths 15, 13, communicates with each other, and fuel circulated in fuel passages 12a, 14a is partly discharged into a fuel tank through the discharge passage 19.
