    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump having simple construction, which reduces electrochemical corrosion of terminals, with the postures and positions of functional components made adjustable without increasing the body size.
    SOLUTION: A terminal subassembly 50 has a hole portion 54 and a hole portion 56 into which a spring for pushing a brush and a tool for adjusting the attitude and position of a pump portion, are inserted. The hole portion 54 and the hole portion 56 are blocked with a protruded portion 81 or a block portion 82 provided on an end cover 40. As a result, a current passage is shut off, or the area of the current passage is reduced between the terminals 51 on the positive and negative pole sides. Thus, even when using fuel containing a highly conductive material such as alcohol, the electrochemical corrosion of the terminals 51 is reduced. The hole portion 54 and the hole portion 56 are blocked with the protruded portion 81 or the block portion 82 to avoid an increase of the body size without the need for securing a great distance between the terminals 51.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is difficult to completely discharge fuel stagnating in a clearance between a hollow pipe and a fixed shaft by using pressure difference of fuel generated in a motor.
    SOLUTION: A discharging hole is provided on the hollow pipe 25 and fuel intruding in the clearance 28 is easily and surely discharged to the outside of the clearance 28. The hollow pipe 25 is formed by rolling metal flat plate into a pipe shape, and a bearing 26 is inserted on outsides of both ends of the hollow pipe 25. The discharging hole is concurrently formed in pressing for cutting out flat plate from strip. Post-processing (deburring) causing great cost increase is not required and the hollow pipe 25 including the discharging hole can be manufactured at a low cost by forming the discharging hole on the flat plate before rolling.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct-current motor which allows increase in space factor of an armature coil 7 and easy change in connection between the armature coils 7. SOLUTION: An armature core 6 is provided in such a manner as to be split into an inside core 6A and an outside core, which are combined together by press-in an fitting after a bobbin 9, around which the armature coil 7 is wound, is assembled to the inside core 6A. The armature coil 7 is wound around the bobbin 9, and both coil ends are connected to male terminals 10 provided in the bobbin 9. A commutator is provided with a female terminal into which the male terminal 10 of the bobbin 9 is fitted, and each of the female terminals undergoes internal connection so as to be brought into conduction with a prescribed segment. Such a constitution enables the connection between the armature coils 7 by only making the male terminal 10 fitted into the female terminal. Consequently, provision of the commutators different in the internal connection allows easy change of the connection between the armature coils 7 only by replacing the commutator.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a motor by reducing rectified voltage for restraining arc discharge generation, or, to reduce electromagnetic noise. SOLUTION: Six coils 7 are connected to each segment 8a in which one end thereof constitutes a rectifier 8, and the other end of each coil is connected to neutral positions n1 and n2. In two pairs of brushes 4, a plus-side brush 4 of one pair is short-circuited with a minus-side brush 4 of the other pair. This makes it possible for a primary coil group and a secondary coil group to be energized in series with each other through the two pairs of brushes 4. With this constitution, the voltage at one phase of coils 7 is decreased by a half of that in a conventional type, which also reduces the voltage when rectified in a half. This would mean that even if the power voltage doubles, the voltage when rectified would not increase more than that in a conventional type. As a result, arc discharge generated between the brushes 4 and the rectifiers 8 when rectified can be restrained, so that wear to the brushes 4 and the rectifiers 8 can be reduced. It is thus possible to extend the service life of the motor.

By energizing the plunger 17 of the pressure accumulation chamber 14 in a right direction (a fuel pressurizing direction) through a spring 18 for pressure accumulation, fuel in the pressure accumulating chamber 14 is discharged in a fuel pressure regulating valve 37 as the fuel is pressurized. Fuel discharged in a fuel pressure regulating valve 37 is regulated to a specified fuel pressure and discharged to a fuel injection valve through a fuel discharge pipe 38.

SOLUTION: A commutator 50 has eight segments formed at equal angle intervals and a fixing part 56 of resin to fix the eight segments. Each segment has a contact member 51 and a terminal member 53 of carbon, and is electrically insulated each other by a radial groove 61. The contact member 51 and the terminal member 53 are electrically connected by a connecting material 57 such as solder at a protuberance part 52. Since a distance between a position where a nail 55 formed on the terminal member 53 and an armature coil are electrically connected by fusing and the connecting material 5 can be parted, the connecting part 57 can be prevented from reaching a fusing temperature even if the terminal member 53 is heated by heat produced when fusing. Accordingly, the segments are prevented from getting conductive by the connecting agent 57 fusing and flowing in the groove 61.

SOLUTION: Cylindrical rotors 4 provided at one end with cylindrical recesses 5a are arranged at a certain spacing on the inside of a cylindrical stator 10 and supported rotatably about the axis by a shaft 12, and a pump part 3 is formed inside the recesses 5a. Because the rotors 4 rotate being supported by the shaft 12 on the internal circumferential side having a low peripheral linear speed, the supporting slide part is unlikely to make seizure. As the rotor 4 is of inner rotor type rotating inside the stator 10, the fluid sucked from the pump part 3 contacts only with the peripheral surface of the rotor 4, and therefore, the fluid resistance at rotating of the rotor 4 can be suppressed and the power consumption be reduced.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump capable of securing a specified discharge quantity without increasing the power consumption, in which the man-hours for winding a coil are reduced. SOLUTION: The pump part 20 of a fuel pump device is of displacement type and inner gear type. The motor part 30 is of brushless motor of outer rotor type. Because of outer winding of coil, an outer rotor type motor requires lesser man-hours for winding the coil, compared with an inner rotor type motor formed by inner winding process. Even if the revolving speed is set below 6000 rpm, the pump part 20 of displacement type can discharge the fuel in equal quantity to a non-displacement type pump using impeller, etc. The inner gear type pump can reduce the sliding resistance of the pump part 20. The revolving speed of the pump part 20 is set to a proper value below 6000 rpm, and thereby the power supplied to the motor part 30 is reduced, which should enhance the rate of fuel consumption.
