SOLUTION: Junction layers 63b and 62a are made by plating at least each other's connection faces of the cylindrical copper terminal part base material having a claw 63a at the periphery and the contact part base material consisting of carbon material with tin (Sn). Heat treatment is applied to it under a condition that the junction layer 62a and the junction layer 63b are stuck fast to each other so as to fuse each other's junction layers, whereby the terminal part base material and the contact part base material are joined with each other. It is divided into each segment after molding with resin so as to form a contact part 62 and a terminal part 63. Since the contact part base material and the terminal part base material are joined with each other by fusing the junction layers made at each other's connection faces by heat treatment, the manufacture becomes easy. Furthermore, an expensive soldering device becomes needless, so the manufacture cost can be reduced.

SOLUTION: An inner rotor 26 and an outer rotor 25 are mutually off-centered and arranged in the inside of a trochoid gear type pump part 12 and both these rotors 25, 26 are rotated by a motor part 13, thereby the capacities of many pump chambers partitioned by the trochoid teeth of both the rotors 25, 26 are successively increased/reduced and fuel is absorbed/delivered. A metallic or resinous disk-like member 38 is attached to be tightly stuck to the outside surface of a pump side plate 22, and fuel delivered from the pump part 12 is led to flow into a circular arc channel 19 formed in the inside surface of the disk-like member 38. Many finlike projections 40 are radially formed in the channel 19, therefore fuel delivered from the pump part 12 to the channel 19 is collided with the projections 40 and a turbulent flow is produced in front/ rear of the projections 40. This turbulent flow performs its duties to disperse and reduce pulsation of fuel discharge pressure and reduces noises/vibration by pressure pulsation.

One end of the cylindrical part 21 is opened to a section outside of the sub tank 20 and facing a suction port 42 of a jet pump 40, and another end is opened at a section in the sub tank 20 above one end and facing a position lower than an upper edge 20d of the sub tank 20. When the sub tank 20 is filled with fuel, part of fuel reaches the suction port 42 of the jet pump 40 via the cylindrical part 21, is sucked by the jet pump 40, flows into the sub tank again, and circulation in this circuit is repeated. SOLUTION: An impeller 16 is provided with first and second stages movable vanes 20, 21, concentric therewith, and the casing 17 side is provided with stationary vanes 22 located between the first and second stage movable vanes 20, 21. When the impeller 16 is rotated, fluid sucked into a casing 17 through an inlet port is subjected to energy caused by a pressure and a speed given by the first stage movable vanes 20, and thereafter, the speed energy is converted into a pressure energy by means of the stationary vanes 22. Further, the fluid is subjected to energy caused by a pressure and a speed given by the second stage movable vanes 21, and accordingly, the pressure of the fluid becomes higher. Further, since the movable vanes 20, 21 are spiral so as to be not orthogonal to the rotating direction of the impeller 16, a load torque which is so high is not exerted to the vanes 20, 21 even though the pressure of the fluid becomes higher. Thus, the tendency of lowering the rotational speed of the impeller 16 is restrained, thereby making it possible to endure a high discharge rate.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the break of a pig tail by maintaining the insulation between a commutator and each segment with simple constitution. SOLUTION: A commutator made of copper 40, which is divided into eight segments 41, is provided on the side of the shaft 23 of a rotor 20. Tin (Sn) plating is applied on the edges of the respective segments 41 in the circumferential direction. Therefore, the formation of conductive copper sulfide at the above described edges caused by the reaction between the sulfur component contained in the fuel and the segments made of copper 41, is prevented. Therefore, the electric connection of the respective segments 41 is prevented, and the normal operation of the rotor 20 can be maintained. Since tin plating is performed to the copper pig tail of a brush and copper powder, which attaches the pig tail to the brush, the disconnection of the pig tails or the separation of the brush and the pig tail or the defective conduction caused by the reaction between the sulfur component in the fuel and the pig tail or the copper podder can be prevented.

    SOLUTION: The fuel pump module is equipped with a fuel pump, and in the case of additional fuel pumps, a manifold receives all pumped fuel and directs it into a fuel filter in a filter case. A check valve is adjacent to the filter case at a first location and the pressure regulator is adjacent to the check valve. With the check valve located between the filter case and the pressure regulator, high fuel-pressures may be maintained in an engine supply line when the engine is shut off, while during engine operation the pressure regulator may relieve excessive fuel pressure and deliver fuel to the engine. A jet pump supply line exits the filter case at a second case location and supplies fuel to one or more jet pumps.

SOLUTION: A fuel pump 10 is constituted of a pump part 20 and a motor part 30 for driving the pump part 20. Fuel transferred from the pump part 20 to the inside of the motor part 30 by exerting pressure is exhausted from a fuel exhaustion port 43 to an engine. A contact part 62 of a commutator 60 slidingly engaging a brush is formed by adding amorphous carbon to natural carbon. Hence, mechanical strength of the contact part 62 is enhanced to decrease an amount of abrasion due to sliding engagement with the brush. Thereby, the lifetime needed to reach the abrasion limit of the contact part 62 is prolonged to improve durability of the fuel pump 10. Moreover, inexpensive natural carbon can be adopted to reduce a manufacturing cost of the commutator 60.
