Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect deterioration of engine related parts for a hybrid car. SOLUTION: This deterioration detection system comprises motors MG1, MG2 connected to the output shaft of an engine and a control device 180 which temporarily stops or runs the engine 100 under a predetermined driving condition and also controls the actuation of the motors MG1, MG2. The deterioration detection system further comprises an engine operating time counting device to count an engine operating time from a combustion operating time when a driving force generated by engine combustion energy is transmitted to an output shaft and a non-combustion operating time when the engine is not running and as a result no force is transmitted from the engine to the output shaft. The system is further equipped with a deterioration determination device to determine deterioration of engine related parts based on the engine operating times.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrong determination of a misfire or the like according to the ion current detection result by limiting the combustion state determination of an internal combustion engine based on an ion current according to the current flowing through a motor and a motor control device of a hybrid vehicle. SOLUTION: An electric control unit(ECU) 40 reads a voltage value of an ignition plug 16 part generated by an ion current, and compares the read value with a designated value to conduct the required control operation when a misfire is determined. In the ion current detecting device of a hybrid vehicle, when a large current flows through a motor, noise is generated to have a bad influence to the ion current to cause wrong determination of a misfire. When a misfire determination limiting routine is executed, the noise present is determined when the detection values Im of currents of motors MG1, MG2 are larger than a designated amount, when the change rate (dIm/dt) of the detected current value is larger than a designated value, or when a regenerative control current Irm flows. Thus, it is possibe to prevent wrong determination of the engine combustion state according to the detection of an ion current influenced by noise.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To suppress the fluctuation of an air-fuel ratio by a method wherein a guard for a present correction amount is set from the present fluctuation center of a correction amount when, based on an output from an air-fuel sensor arranged upper stream from a catalyst converter, a correction amount is decided and a fundamental fuel injection amount is adjusted for correction. CONSTITUTION: When, based on an output from an air-fuel ration sensor 9 arranged upper stream from a catalyst converter 8, a correction amount is decided and a fundamental fuel injection amount is adjusted for correction, each time a fundamental fuel injection amount and a correction amount are decided, the present fluctuation center of a fluctuating correction amount is calculated. After the present upper and lower guard value of a correction amount are then calculated, a present fluctuation center is stored as a preceding fluctuation center in preparation for subsequent processing. It is then decided whether or not a present correction amount exceeds the upper guard value and when it exceeds the upper guard value, a correction amount is set as the upper guard value and when it is therebelow, a correction amount is set as the lower guard value when a present correction amount is below the lower guard value.

SOLUTION: An engine stall is estimated in accordance with stall estimation criteria determined in advance (R1-3), and if the estimated number of times (counter snestp) reaches a determining value CNESTP1, a target rotational speed of an engine netag is raised by only a compensation quantity neup so that the engine stall is not easily caused when the engine is started afterward (R1-7). On the other hand, if a prescribed restoring condition is satisfied (decision of R1-8 is YES), the compensated target rotational speed of the engine netag is returned back to the original by the compensation quantities neup (R1-9).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the excellent start performance regardless of fuel properties and also prevent the wrong decision of the fuel properties. SOLUTION: When the starting condition of an internal combustion engine is realized, an usual start control is carried out to start the internal combustion engine. After the start of the internal combustion engine is started by the usual start control, when the start is finished in a prescribed time, it is judged that the properties of the fuel supplied to the internal combustion engine is soft. On the other hand, when the start is not finished in the prescribed time, it is judged that the fuel properties are heavy. In this case, after elapsing the prescribed time, the start control for heavy fuel is carried out in place of the usual start control so that the start of the internal combustion engine is quickly finished. By this method, the fuel properties are detected before the start of the internal combustion engine is finished and also when the fuel properties are heavy, the start control is changed to the control responding to the fuel properties.
