Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exclude an influence by the change of a filter or change of characteristics, by executing detection of a current value after a predetermined time corresponding to the time constant of the filter is elapsed from the application of a voltage. SOLUTION: A CPU 120 further waits for the elapse of a predetermined detecting period after stopping a voltage application, detects a current value via a current sensor 102, and detects an electric angle by using the current value. And, the period is set so as to satisfy the condition that the period is sufficiently longer than the time constant of a filter 106. Thus, since a time delay is incorporated in the detection of the current and hence the current can be detected without influence by a delay in rise of the current by the filters 106, 108, the angle can be accurately obtained. And, even if characteristics of the filter 106 are changed, a desired current value can be detected. And, the angle can be accurately obtained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a power output unit comprising a motor for rotating the output shaft and the drive shaft of a prime mover relatively, and a motor to be coupled with the output shaft and the drive shaft of the prime mover in which a brake force can be applied to the drive shaft. SOLUTION: The power output unit 20 comprises an engine 50, a clutch motor 30 having rotors 31, 33 coupled with a crankshaft 56 and a drive shaft 22, respectively, an assist motor 40 to be coupled with the crankshaft 56 and the drive shaft 22 through first and second clutches 45, 46, respectively, and a controller 80 for both motors 30, 40. When a driver steps a brake pedal 65, the controller 80 regulates power to be outputted from the engine 50 and both motors 30, 40 depending on the connecting state of both clutches 45, 46 and the stepping amount of the brake pedal 65 thus applying a brake force to the drive shaft 22.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To get high efficiency and high output by reducing the iron loss of a reluctance motor. SOLUTION: The plural core segments 14 and 30 of a stator and a rotor are made by stacking oriented electromagnetic steel plates and molding the whole in roughly U shape so that the section of stacking may be in roughly U shape. At this time, they are stacked in order so that the direction of the high permeability of the oriented electromagnetic steel plates may be one along the said roughly U. Then, they are arranged along the circumference, with the sides of the roughly U adjoining each other, to make the cores 15 and 32 of the stator and the rotor. Because the electromagnetic plates are stacked, for the magnetic flux within a magnetic pole 24 and a salient pole 34, the ripple of the circumferential components decreases, and the iron loss caused by this is reduced. Moreover, because the direction of the permeability of the oriented electromagnetic steel plates accords with the direction of the magnetic flux, a stronger magnetic flux can be made.

SOLUTION: A power output apparatus 20 has an engine 50, a clutch motor 30 which has respective rotors 31 and 33 on a crankshaft 56 and a driving shaft 22, an assistant motor 40 which is attached to a rotor rotary shaft 38, a 1st clutch 45 which couples and decouples the rotor rotary shaft 38 with/from the crankshaft 56, a 2nd clutch 46 which couples the rotor rotary shaft 38 with/ from the driving shaft 22 and a controller 80 which controls both the motors 30 and 40. The controller 80 operates both the clutches 45 and 46 to change the coupling state of the rotor rotary shaft 38 in accordance with the states of the engine 50, the driving shaft 22, etc., and a power outputted from the engine 50 is efficiently converted into a driving torque by both the rotors 30 and 40 to be outputted to the driving shaft 22.

A direction is transmitted to EFIECU by a control CPU to gradually adjust the torque of the engine to Te and the engine speed to Ne. In an assist motor 40, the driving shaft 22B for the rear wheels is given torque by power regenerated by a clutch motor 30 in proportion to the deviation of the rotational speed of the crankshaft 56 of the engine 50 from the rotational speed of the inner rotor 34 of the clutch motor 30.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a secondary battery in proper condition and change/discharge the secondary battery according to need. SOLUTION: A power transmission device 20 contains a clutch motor 30, an assist motor 40, a battery 94 and a control device 80. The motors 30, 40 are controlled by the control device 80, and thus convert energy, expressed as the product of the number of revolutions of a clank shaft 56 and torque, output from an engine 50 into energy expressed as the product of the number of revolutions of a drive shaft 22 and torque, and transmits the energy to the drive shaft 22. When the remaining capacity BRM of the battery 94 is equal to or below a threshold BL2, part of the output energy from the engine 50 is regenerated by either of the motors 30, 40 to charge the battery 94. When the remaining capacity BRM of the battery 50 is equal to or above a threshold BH2, part of the electric power accumulated in the battery 94 is used in either of the motors 30, 40. As a result, the remaining capacity BRM of the battery 94 is kept within the range between the threshold BL2 and the threshold BH2.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To brake a drive shaft coupled with a second rotor by means of a motor comprising a first rotor coupled with the output shaft of a prime mover and a second rotor rotating relatively to the first rotor. SOLUTION: A power transmission 20 coupled with the crankshaft 56 of an engine 50 is provided with a clutch motor 30 and an assist motor 40 and controlled through a controller 80. When a brake torque is applied to a drive shaft 22 from the clutch motor 30, the engine 50 reacts to blown up and when the fuel injection is stopped, the engine 50 reacts to rotate at an r.p.m. for balancing the frictional force of piston sliding or the like. A brake torque is imparted to the drive shaft 22 through regenerative control of the clutch motor 30 when the r.p.m. is lower than that of the drive shaft 22 and through the powering control (drive control) of the clutch motor 30 when the r.p.m. is higher than that of the drive shaft 22.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring the output torque from the output shaft substantially to zero. SOLUTION: A clutch motor 30 comprises an outer rotor 32 coupled with a crank shaft 56 and an inner rotor 34 coupled with a drive shaft 22. An assist motor 40 has a rotor 42 coupled with the drive shaft 22. These motors 30, 40 are controlled by a controller 80. A control CPU 90 controls a first drive circuit 91 to cause powering operation of the clutch motor 30 when the residual capacity of a battery 94 is lower than a minimum allowable level thus generating a torque from the drive shaft 22 in the rotational direction. The control CPU 90 controls a second drive circuit 92 to cause regenerative operation of the assist motor 40 thus generating a torque of substantially same magnitude as that from the clutch motor 30 in the direction reverse to the rotational direction the drive shaft 22. Power regenerated from the assist motor 40 is fed to the battery 94 and stored therein.

When a constant current is fed to a three-phase coil 36 such that a torque, higher than the maximum torque ripple of engine 50, is applied from the clutch motor 30 to a drive shaft 22 and the crankshaft 56 when the rotor electric angle of clutch motor 30 is π/2, the outer rotor 32 and inner rotor 34 of clutch motor 30 are locked. Consequently, the torque and rotation of engine 50 can be transmitted, as they are, to the drive shaft 22.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the change of sound in a compartment in a vehicle in which the operation of an accelerator pedal does not correspond to that of a prime mover. SOLUTION: A torque transmission apparatus 20 having a clutch motor 30 and an assist motor 40 is provided at the output of an internal combustion engine 50. When the load of a vehicle does not become so as to efficiently continuously operate the engine 50, the engine 50 is intermittently operated. When the engine 50 is stopped, the carrier frequencies of drive circuits (inverters) 91, 92 for driving the motors 30 and 40 are increased to increase the sound of body feeling. When the engine 50 is operated, carrier frequency is reduced to decrease the sound of the body feeling. As a result, the change of the sound hearing in a compartment is suppressed. The operating amount AP of an accelerator pedal is detected, carrier frequency is altered in response to it, and the body feeling of the sound in the compartment may be matched to the operating amount of the accelerator pedal.
