    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying a protein, a peptide and an organic compound having free amino group(s) by using a PEG imidate derivative or a related water-soluble organic polymer, and a modified compound, and to provide a new imidate derivative of PEG and other water-soluble polymers.
    SOLUTION: The water-soluble polymer-modifying agent includes polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, polyoxy-ethylated polyol, heparin, heparin fragments, dextran, polysaccharides, polyamino acid, and polyvinyl alcohol, and other water-soluble organic polymers. Merits of the PEG-imidate is that when it is reacted with the amino group of a protein, the obtained derivative has positive charge, and the positive charge can be removed from the backbone of the water-soluble polymer. Interesting polypeptides derived from imidates of water-soluble polymer are also provided.
