PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel human GIL-19/AE289 protein which shows a high homology to interleukin-10 (IL-10). SOLUTION: The invention relates to polynucleotides which encode the above proteins, and a method for therapeutic, diagnostic and research use of the polynucleotides and protein thereof. Further, the invention relates to host cells transformed by the polynucleotide compositions including bacterial cells, yeast cells, insect cell and mammalian cells and furthermore, relates to organisms that have enhanced, reduced, or modified expression of the gene(s) corresponding to the polynucleotide sequences disclosed herein. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting the adhesion of blood to a biological tissue in a biological system, and to provide a composition for being used for the method. SOLUTION: This method is for inhibiting the adhesion of blood to a biological tissue in a biological system. This method involves a process for adding a fused polypeptide in an amount sufficient for inhibiting the adhesion of the blood to the biological tissue to the biological system. Therein, the fused protein contains the first polypeptide operably connected to the second polypeptide, and the first polypeptide contains at least one domain of a glycoprotein Ibα polypeptide.
