PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new microorganism exhibiting high decomposition activity to petroleum such as lubricating oil even in soil, a microorganism consortium and a method for cleaning petroleum-contaminated soil by using the microorganism and consortium. SOLUTION: The microorganism belongs to Gordonia amicalis and has petroleum decomposition activity. The microorganism consortium contains the microorganism and one or more kinds of microorganisms having petroleum decomposing activity and selected from the group consisting of microorganisms belonging to Xanthobacter sp., Pseudoxanthomonas sp., Paenibacillus sp., Nitrobacter sp., Ochrobactrum sp., Labrys sp., Delftia sp. and Rhizobiales order.
