Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain to reduce treating cost and to prolong a liquid changing cycle, by a method wherein ultrasonic vibration is imparted to used cutting oil to flocculate dirty substance in the cutting oil to omit the use of a floculant. CONSTITUTION: Used cutting oil 2 from which an iron powder or coarse dust is removed is supplied into a separation tank 1. When a liquid level reaches a set level, ultrasonic waves are emitted from an ultrasonic oscillating plate 3 positioned under the liquid level in the separation tank 1. By this operation, dirty substance suspended in the cutting oil 2 is oscillated and flocculated to be floated to the liquid level while the particle size thereof is increased. When dirty substance is floated to a certain extent, a scraper 4 is started and the dirty substance is scraped by a scraping plate 6 to be discharged out of the separation tank 1 from a guide plate 7. When the cutting oil 2 is supplied into the separation tank 1 while ultrasonic waves are irradiated, the liquid from which the dirty substance is removed to a certain extent in the midde and the lower layers is blown into a purification degree checking tank 14 as a purified liquid 12.
