Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headrest control device capable of moving a headrest to a position where it can cope with a rear-end collision of a vehicle in a short time when the collision is predicted or detected. SOLUTION: The headrest control device is provided with a headrest drive mechanism 30 for moving the headrest forward and backward, a distance detecting means (a headrest sensor 40) for detecting a distance between a head of a seated occupant and the headrest, a collision detecting means (a collision predicting means 43) for detecting or predicting a collision, and a control means 44 for driving the headrest drive mechanism 30 to control the distance between the head of the seated occupant and the headrest. The control means 44 has a first control means 44A for operating the headrest drive mechanism 30 to move the headrest to the predetermined position where it can cope with a rear-end collision of the vehicle on the basis of a detecting signal from the distance detecting means, and a second control means 44B for operating the headrest drive mechanism 30 to move the headrest to a close position closer to the head of the occupant in comparison with the predetermined position. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move a head rest close to a more suitable position toward a head part of a sitting person when rear-end collision of a vehicle is predicted or detected. SOLUTION: The vehicular seat 1 is operated so as to move the head rest 4 close toward the head part of the sitting person when the rear-end collision of the vehicle is predicted or detected. A seat back 2 is formed so as to be vertically divided to an upper part back rest 2A attached with the head rest 4 to an upper part and a lower part back rest 2B arranged at a lower part side of the upper part back rest 2A. By predicting or detecting the rear-end collision of the vehicle, the upper part back rest 2A is forward falling-operated relative to the lower part back rest 2B by driving of a middle folding drive device 20 provided between itself the lower part back rest 2B. Further, a height position relative to the upper part back rest 2A of the head rest 4 is movement-operated in a height direction approached to the head part of the sitting person by driving of a head rest lifting drive device 10. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid degrading the aesthetic appearance around a seat caused by the presence of a reacher. SOLUTION: The reacher 30 is usually stored in a retraction space 16 inside a shield 13. In wearing a seat belt 20, a webbing moves to a position sufficiently accessible to an occupant M when the reacher 30 changes from a standby position to a usable condition. After the occupant M wear the seat belt 20, the reacher 30 is returned to a standby position and retracted into the shield 13. The reacher 30 is exposed only for a short time while the occupant M is taking an action of wearing the seat belt 20.
