    摘要: PURPOSE:To obtain the film having a controlled fine structure at a lower temperature without causing the heat decomposition of optical material by spraying a solution or dispersion of an organic optical material into a high-vacuum vessel, depositing the material on a substrate, and heating the deposit. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum vessel 3 is drawn through a vacuum pump 4 to a high vacuum of 1X10 mmHg or below. A solution or dispersion of an organic optical material held in a liquid reservoir 18 is sprayed into the vessel 3 through an open/shut mechanism 2 and a control nozzle part 1 to deposit the material on a substrate 19. A substrate heater 20 is energized to heat the substrate 19, and the vapor of the solvent, etc., are trapped with a cold trap 6. After confirming that the volatile component has been completely removed from the deposit by means of a gate valve 11, an ionization apparatus 12 and a mass spectrograph 13, the deposit is optionally formed under pressure.

    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacked optical thin film having reduced light scattering, high durability and higher performance by making a sublimable, crystalline organic compound exist as an amorphous compound, a microcrystalline one or solid solution. SOLUTION: When this stacked optical thin film is produced by putting the powder or film of a meltable organic compound between the substrate surface deposited with a sublimable organic compound and the second substrate, by melting the meltable organic compound under a vacuum and heated condition and then by subjecting two substrates to compression bonding, the sublimable organic compound is in at least one kind selected from following states: (1) an amorphous state; (2) a microcrystalline state where the diameter of a crystal grain doesn't exceed one fifth times the wavelength of light applied to the stacked optical thin film; (3) solid solution where the meltable organic compound is adopted as medium.

    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to exhibit optical response of sufficient magnitude and high speed by using a laser beam of low power as control light. SOLUTION: The control light is emitted from a light source 1 and signal light from a light source 2. The control light and the signal light are converged by a condenser lens 7 and is cast to the laminated thin-film optical element 8. Only the signal light is detected by a photodetector 22 through a photodetecting lens 9 and a wavelength selection filter 20. A heat lens is reversibly formed within the laminated thin-film optical element by on and off of the control light, by which the intensity modulation of the signal light may be embodied. The constitution of the thin-film optical element is composed of a laminated structure consisting of for example, a heat transmission layer film/heat insulating layer film/light absorption film/heat lens forming layer/light absorption film/heat insulating layer film/heat transmission layer. The thickness of the light absorption layer consisting of the laminated structure of the light absorption film/heat lens forming layer/light absorption film is so adjusted as not to exceed 2 times the confocal distance of the converged control light.
