SOLUTION: A coil spring 17 is arranged in a bag body 11 of the suction filter 10, and the coil spring 17 elongates the bag body 11. The shape-retaining members 15 and 18 are connected with fixing portions 13 and 16 at one end and joined with a filter material 11a via rivet-like joint portions 15b and 18b at the other end. The shape-retaining members 15 and 18 expand the bag body 11 through an elastic restoring force. Arranged outside the bag body 11, i.e. on the side not to be cleaned, the shape-retaining members 15 and 18 never serve as foreign matters on the side of the bag body 11 to be cleaned even when broken.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply device for not impeding normal operation of an engine at low cost even when a part of light oil becomes wax and a suction filter is plugged.SOLUTION: The fuel supply device is provided with a bypass passage 8 for bypassing the suction filter 3 and a bypass selector valve 9 for performing the change of the bypass passage 8 by a difference between "spring force" and "a fluid pressure of return fuel". In a normal state without plugging, the bypass passage 8 is closed by the fluid pressure of the return fuel to suck the light oil passing the suction filter 3. Thus, when a part of the light oil in the fuel tank 1 becomes wax and the suction filter 3 is plugged, the bypass passage 8 is opened by lowering of the return fuel to suck the light oil bypassing the suction filter 3 so that normal operation of the engine is not impeded. Since the bypass selector valve 9 is a mechanical passage selector valve, it can suppress a cost.

SOLUTION: An anti-decompression valve 6 is adapted to close while the fuel pressure in a fuel feed line 11 falls within the range from 80% including to 100% excluding of the minimum system fuel pressure during a stoppage of an engine 3 to thus hold this fuel pressure in the feed line 11 during a stoppage of the engine 3 within this 80-100% range of the minimum system fuel pressure. This control permits an immediate restart of the engine 3. The nozzle bore of a jet pump 20 is set to 0.6 mm, and the pressure loss is adjusted to hold the branch flow rate into the jet pump 20 within 25 l/h. This regulation supplies the engine 3 with a quantity of fuel required on the engine side with no increase in discharge of a fuel pump 2 to whereby hold the fuel pump 2 small-sized.
