    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel feed apparatus lowering the transmission of vibration to the outside.
    SOLUTION: A pump module 30 is accommodated in the sub tank 20. The pump module 30 is provided with a fuel filter 32, a fuel pump and a pressure regulator 49. A suction filter 50 is connected with an intake port of the fuel pump, and brought into contact with a bottom inner wall of the sub tank 20. A nonwoven fabric material is disposed along an outer peripheral surface of the suction filter 50. A supporting member 60 connects a lid 36 of the fuel filter 32 and the sub tank 20 on the upper side of the suction filter 50. The supporting member 60 is an integrally formed thin plate, and has resilience. The supporting member 60 includes a central section 61 snap-fitting to the lid 36 and two arm sections 64 snap-fitting to a peripheral wall 27 of the sub tank 20.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump with high pumping efficiency. SOLUTION: An impeller 30 has blade pieces 31 around the whole surface of its outer circumferential edge. Partitions 36 are disposed in grooved spaces 39 formed between the circumferentially adjoining blade pieces 31 and partition parts of the grooved spaces 39 in an approximately center of the width in the rotational shaft direction of the impeller 30 from the roots of the blade pieces 31. The root side of the blade piece 31 is inclined rearward in the rotational direction, while its tip side in the diametrical outside is inclined frontward in the rotational direction. A recess in a front face 32 is gradually and sequentially reduced from the root of the blade piece 31 toward the tip in the diametrical outside and sequentially enlarged inward from the both ends in the rotational shaft direction. The recess in the root side of the front face 32 is large so that the fuel easily flows from the root side of the blade piece 31 towards the grooved space 39 by the rotation of the impeller 30. The recess of the front face 32 is reduced so that the flow rate of the fuel flowing to the tip side of the grooved space 39 increases.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize superior electric contact between a commutator segment and a metal segment in a disk commutator of a type with junction structure on the other side of commutation, while restraining structure and manufacturing process from complicating and preventing damage of the commutator segment. SOLUTION: In a disk commutator of a type with junction structure on the other side of commutation, a protruding part 4 of the commutator segment 1 is fitted in a cylinder 210 of the metal segment 2. Function of elastic deformation which can reduce the diameter of a cylinder 21 is given to the peripheral part of the cylinder 21 of the metal segment 2. By fitting the protruding part 4 in the cylinder 210, the peripheral part of the cylinder 210 of the metal segment 2 is deformed elastically in the direction increasing the diameter with the protruding part 4. By a self elastic deformation restoring force of the peripheral part of the cylinder 210 of the metal segment 2, superior electric contact between the metal segment 2 and the protruding part 4 is obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commutator which can positively electrically connect a contact member an a terminal member and can position both of the members easily and also provide a fuel pump using such a commutator, and a method for manufacturing the commutator. SOLUTION: A commutator 50 is constituted of eight segments which are electrically insulated from each other by means of radial grooves 61, and each segment is constituted of a contact member 51 which brushes by a brush and a terminal member 53. A base metal of a contact members 51 before being divided by the grooves 61 has on the inner side an annular projection projecting toward a rotary shaft of the commutator. In an assembled state of the base metal of the contact members 53 and a base metal of the terminal members before filling in spaces between the contact members 51 and the terminal members 53 with connection material 57, the outer surface of the projection formed in the base metal of the contact members and the inner surface of the base metal of the terminal members surrounding the outer surface of the base metal of the contact members are in contact at several places, thereby allowing the contact members and the terminal members only to rotate. Since the base metal of the contact members and that of the terminal members can be assembled, without adjusting a space between the outer surface of the projection of the base metal of the cost members and the inner surface of the base metal of the terminal members, the number of manufacturing processes can be reduced.

A pressure regulating part 6 is arranged on a position with the same direction around the rotary shaft 4 as in a downstream part 201b of the fuel flow passage 201, and opposed to a peripheral surface of an armature 31 of a motor 3 connected to the rotary shaft 4. Force to be applied to the impeller 21 due to fuel pressure of the fuel flow passage 201 whose downstream part 201b is high and force to be applied to the armature 31 due to the fuel pressure around the armature 31 of the pressure regulating part 6, whose position is high are balanced around the bearing 51.

    SOLUTION: A flange 12 of the fuel supply device 10 is attached on a bottom wall 2 of the fuel tank 1 to close an opening part 2a formed on the bottom wall 2. The pump module 20 includes the fuel pump 21, a fuel filter 22 and a pressure regulator 60 or the like. A cylindrical part 27 is formed projectingly from a side of a filter case 24. One side of a shaft 30 is press-fitted in a press-fit part 13 of the flange 12 and another side of the shaft 30 is inserted in the cylindrical part 27. The shaft 30 prevents the pump module 20 from falling off by locking the cylindrical part 27 via a vibration isolating member 40 and a washer 50 with a step 34 of the shaft.

As a result, the position of the center gage 50 can be changed to the position where interference with a float member 54, a fuel tank 10, a sub-tank 12 or a suction filter 31 can be prevented without causing design changes of the flange 20 and the bracket 43 or the like.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems in a motor type fuel pump mounted in a fuel tank: a relief valve for relieving excessive pressure of fuel delivered and a one-way valve for preventing fuel in a fuel supply pipe from flowing backward are provided for the fuel pump, and a pressure regulating valve for maintaining a predetermined fuel pressure is provided downstream the one- way valve; these arrangements result in the heavier and bigger fuel pump; and pressure regulating process is also troublesome. SOLUTION: A relief valve provided with a pressure regulating function 16 is provided integrally with a one-way valve 11 provided at a delivery port 9 of a fuel pump 1. The relief valve provided with the pressure regulating function 16 closes a valve seat 19 formed in an opening in a relief flow path communicating with a valve chamber 14 of the one-way valve 11 using a valve body 17 urged to a predetermined pressure by a spring 18 to maintain fuel in a fuel supply pipe 3 at a predetermined pressure. The relief valve 16 is also operated when pressure of fuel from the pump is excessive.
