SOLUTION: A means, wherein protective walls 62 and 63 which protect a connection part 100 between an armature coil and a rectification device 51 from cooling air are formed on a cover 6 covering the rectification device 51 so as to face against the flow of cooling air sucked through a suction inlet 61, is used. By forming the protective walls 62 and 63 on the cover 6, the connection part 100 close to the suction inlet 61 of the cover 6 can be protected from being wetted by water penetrating with cooling air. With this constitution, oxidation of the connection part and a generation defect caused by the oxidation of the connection part 100 can be suppressed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling property by enlarging the area of a cooling fin of a rectifier element such as diode for rectification, without deteriorating the cooling property of other components in a limited space where a brush holder, an IC regulator, a connector case, etc., are mounted. SOLUTION: A rectifying equipment has cooling fins 511, 512 which hold rectifier elements 513, 514 and lastly fixed to a rear frame 42. The cooling fins 511, 512 have a C-shaped notched part 52 where a part of a ring is notched and isolated, and a brush holder, a connector case 8 and an IC regulator 7 are arranged. The width of the notched part 52 in the peripheral direction is set 1.3 to 3 times the width of a brush accommodating part 62 in the peripheral direction. The cooling wind flowing around rectifier elements 513, 514 through the notched part 52 is reduced. Various kinds of electronic components can be arranged in the notched part 52, so that the cooling property of the rectifier elements 513, 514 can be improved, and compact constitution can be realized.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat resistance and vibration strength and to achieve excellent cost effectiveness, by fixing a bush of almost cylindrical shape made of a thermosetting resin to a resin cover in such a way as to project in the direction of a rectifying device. SOLUTION: A mounting hole of a cover 11 is fitted to a bolt 12. Then, a rectifying device 10 and the cover 11 are secured with a nut 18 from the axial direction to a rear frame 4. In this case, the cover 11 is made of a low- cost thermosetting resin typified by a nylon resin. A bush, as the mounting hole of the cover 11, of a cylindrical shape pre-formed with the thermosetting resin is fixed by the insert molding in such a way as to project toward the rectifying device 10. This makes the cylindrical part of a bush 16 arranged between the bolt 12 and a + fin mounting hole and a terminal block mounting hole. Also, the bush 16 has a middle collar part which has a radial cross-section larger than the mounting hole of the + fin 15, and end surface collar part which serves as the tightening bearing surface of the nut 18, on its side end surface.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brushless alternator for a vehicle that is reduced in size and weight without impairing its power generation capacity and can be inexpensively manufactured.
SOLUTION: The alternator includes a magnetic ring 25 fit to a field core 24 on the fixed side and extended in the axial direction. The magnetic ring 25 is so extended that it overlaps a field winding 23 in the axial direction. Therefore, it is possible to secure the area of an air gap 251 between the field core and a rotating magnetic pole core 222 of the other polarity and further shorten the axial length of the field core 24 and reduce its weight. In addition, magnetic flux can be infiltrated into the rotating magnetic pole core 222 of the other polarity opposed to the field winding 23. Therefore, it is possible to also reduce axial lengths of the rotating magnetic pole core 222 and a rotating core 224. Thus, the alternator 1 can be significantly reduced in size and weight as a whole.
