PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a new sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound, and a production method and a use method of the compound. The sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound of the present invention has storage stability, is water soluble, and has low odor to no odor. In addition, the compound of the present invention is extracted from a non-petroleum-based recycled oil. The compound of the present invention can be used as a bactericidal agent and a bleaching agent. The compound of the present invention is also suitable for using as a coupling agent.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water soluble novel sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound useful as an antibacterial agent and a bleaching agent, having storage stability and low odor or no odor, and to provide a preparation method thereof.SOLUTION: A compound represented by the formula I: where Ris a Csubstituted alkyl group and Ris a Calkyl group, or salts thereof, esters or a mixture thereof are provided. A method of preparing the compound includes contacting a non-alpha sulfonated carboxylic acid with an oxidant under acidic pH conditions to produce sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing a water soluble novel sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound having low to no odor and storage stability, useful as an antibacterial agent, a bleaching agent, and a coupling agent.SOLUTION: A composition containing a novel sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound represented by the formula I, where Rrepresents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, Rrepresents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, X represents a hydrogen atom, a cationic group or an ester formation part, is provided.
