Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a new sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound, and a production method and a use method of the compound. The sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compound of the present invention has storage stability, is water soluble, and has low odor to no odor. In addition, the compound of the present invention is extracted from a non-petroleum-based recycled oil. The compound of the present invention can be used as a bactericidal agent and a bleaching agent. The compound of the present invention is also suitable for using as a coupling agent.
Abstract:
Use of a high shear mechanical device incorporated into a process for the production of cumene hydroperoxide as a mixer/reactor device is capable of decreasing mass transfer limitations, thereby enhancing the cumene hydroperoxide production process. A system for the production of cumene hydroperoxide from oxidation of cumene, the system comprising a reactor and an high shear mixer the outlet of which is fluidly connected to the inlet of the reactor; the high shear mixer capable of providing a dispersion air gas bubbles within a liquid, the bubbles having an average bubble diameter of less than about 100 mum.
Abstract:
The present application relates to a method for manufacturing tert-butyl hydroperoxide that includes the following steps: a) fermenting renewable raw materials and optionally purifying the same to produce a mixture containing at least butanol; b) dehydrating the butanol into butane; c) converting the butane into isobutene and optionally hydrating the isobutene to produce tert-butanol; d) reacting the product of step c) with hydrogen peroxide so as to produce tert-butyl hydroperoxide; and e) isolating the tert-butyl hydroperoxide. The invention also relates to tert-butyl hydroperoxide containing carbon atoms from renewable resources, to the compositions containing said tert-butyl hydroperoxide, and also relates to the use thereof as a polymerization initiator.
