Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte having improved hot water resistance and radical resistance, a proton conductive membrane comprising the polymer electrolyte, and a membrane-electrode assembly including the proton conductive membrane. SOLUTION: The polymer electrolyte comprises at least one polymer selected from polyether, polyketone, polyetherketone, polysulfone, polyethersulfone, polyimide, polyetherimide, polybenzimidazole, polybenzothiazole, polybenzoxazole and the like, wherein the polymer comprises a repeating structural unit with either or both of an aromatic ring and a heterocyclic ring, and a repeating structural unit represented by the formula (1). In the formula, X is a single bond, an electron-attracting group or an electron-donating group; R is a single bond, -(CH 2 ) q - or -(CF 2 ) q - where q is 1-10; m is 0-10; k is 0-5; 1 is 0-4; and k+l≥1. A polyarylene copolymer having a sulfonic acid group which has high proton conductivity and reduced swelling in hot water and reduced shrinkage in drying; a solid polymer electrolyte and a proton conductive membrane comprising the copolymer; and a membrane-electrode assembly using these. The polyarylene block copolymer comprises a polymer segment (A) having a sulfonic acid group, and a polymer segment (B) having substantially no sulfonic acid group, the polymer segment (B) having substantially no sulfonic acid group comprising a structural unit represented by the following formula (1).

SOLUTION: The copolymer having a protonic acid group having a structure shown by the chemical formula (1), wherein X represents a bivalent electron attractive group; Y represents O or S, Z and Q represent a direct bond, O, S, CO, SO 2 , [C(R') 2 ] g (g represents an integer of 1-8) or the like; R, R' and R 1 -R 16 represent H, F, a (fluorine substituted) alkyl, an aryl or a nitrile group; m, n, p, q, r, s, t and u represent an integer of 0-4 with a proviso that p+q≥1; A represents formula (5a) or (5b) wherein W represents a bivalent electron attractive group, S represents a protonic acid residue, i represents an integer of 1-5 and j represents an integer of 1-7.
