PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive polymer aqueous suspension used for providing an organic material which excels in adhesion to a base material and in water resistance and has high conductivity, and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: A conductive polymer aqueous suspension according to an embodiment of the invention contains a conductive polymer, at least one kind of water soluble polyhydric alcohol, and at least one kind of water soluble organic substance having two or more functional groups which can be condensation polymerized with the water soluble polyhydric alcohol. The conductive polymer aqueous suspension can be manufactured by: recovering a conductive polymer obtained by chemically oxidizing and polymerizing a monomer for providing a conductive polymer using an oxidant in a solvent containing as dopant an organic acid or a salt thereof; letting an oxidant act upon the conductive polymer in an aqueous solvent containing polyacid; and further mixing at least one kind of water soluble polyhydric alcohol and at least one kind of water soluble organic substance having two or more functional groups which can be condensation polymerized with the water soluble polyhydric alcohol.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a solid electrolytic capacitor having low ESR and low LC, in which a conductive polymer layer can be easily formed.SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing the solid electrolytic capacitor includes a process to form a dielectric oxide film layer 2 on the surface of a valve action metal porous body 1, a process to form a conductive polymer layer 3 on the dielectric oxide film layer by immersing it in conductive polymer suspension, and a process to form a cathode layer on the conductive polymer layer. A process to make organic material powder which does not dissolve in the conductive polymer suspension adhere to the surface of the conductive polymer suspension before the conductive polymer suspension adhering onto the dielectric oxide film layer is completely dried and cured, and a process to form the conductive polymer layer by drying and curing the conductive polymer suspension, and a process to remove the organic material powder remained on the surface of the conductive polymer layer using a solvent in which only the organic material powder is dissolved are included in this method.

SOLUTION: The conductive polymer composition with excellent water resistance is obtained by bringing a conductive polymer suspension containing a conductive polymer with a polyanion as a dopant and a compound with one epoxy group into a reaction by heating or ultraviolet-ray irradiation, and drying the suspension.
