PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive polymer solution which can obtain desired viscosity with less addition of a thickner than a prior art, and which can provide a conductive polymer having suppressed deterioration in conductivity.SOLUTION: The conductive polymer solution at least includes a conductive polymer, at least one of water and a water-miscible organic solvent, a dopant, and a thickner. The thickner comprises at least one kind of polymer having a carboxyl group and an electron-withdrawing functional group. The electron-withdrawing group is at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a ketone group, an ester group, an aldehyde group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an amino group, a hydroxyl group, and an ether group.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive polymer with high conductivity, a conductive polymer aqueous solution, a conductive polymer film, and furthermore a solid electrolytic capacitor compatible with a reduction in ESR and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The conductive polymer includes a monomeric organic acid having one anion group and one or more hydrophilic groups. The method for producing the solid electrolytic capacitor comprises the steps of forming a dielectric layer 2 on the surface of an anode conductor 1 made of a metal for valve action, forming a first conductive polymer compound layer 3A on the surface of the dielectric layer 2 through chemical oxidation and polymerization, or through electropolymerization of monomers to give the first conductive polymer compound layer 3A, and forming a second conductive polymer compound layer 3B through impregnation of the surface of the first conductive polymer compound layer 3A with a conductive polymer aqueous solution.
