Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can reduce a deviation from a target speed in a running speed of an intermediate transfer belt 25, which is caused by a processing error in a diameter of a drive roller 17c, in an abnormal time drive system.SOLUTION: An image forming device includes a control device 201 which controls a driving speed of a drive motor 203 on the basis of a detection result by an encoder 202 when an assessment is made that an abnormality occurs in a detection result at a scale sensor 205. The control device 201 is configured so that in a state that there is no abnormality in a detection result given by the scale sensor 205, while controlling a driving speed of the driving motor 203 on the basis of comparison between a detection result by the encoder 202 and an encoder target value, comparison between a detection result of the scale sensor 205 and a predetermined target value is made; and on the basis of a comparison result, a target value correction process to correct an encoder target value is executed at a predetermined timing.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device in which both a shock jitter and a transfer failure are prevented from occurring, and rotation loads and vibrations applied to an image carrier, both being caused due to collision of counter members, are reduced to obtain an excellent image. SOLUTION: An image-carrying surface 21a of the image carrier and a contact surface 30a of the counter member 30 are spaced apart from each other by a contacting/separating means. A recording medium P is supplied to a transfer nip N between the image-carrying surface and the contact surface by a recording medium-supplying means. The contacting/separating means includes cams 50 and 51, and a cam-driving means for rotatably driving the cams. A cam outer-peripheral surface is formed so that: the image-carrying surface and the contact surface are separated from each other when the cam is located in a first rotation position; and the image-carrying surface and the contact surface are brought into contact with each other when the cam is located in a second rotation position. Before the recording medium enters the transfer nip, the cam starts rotating from the first rotation position A toward the second rotation position B at a predetermined velocity, thereby accelerating the rotating velocity of the cam. When the recording medium enters the transfer nip, the cam is located at the second rotation position B, the image-carrying surface and the contact surface are brought into contact with each other, and the pressure of a pressure means 45 is applied on the transfer nip. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a photoreceptor from being uselessly driven, to make a scale sensor 71 detect a plurality of marks provided in an intermediate transfer belt 61, even while the intermediate transfer belt 61 is moved by a contact and separation means, and to highly accurately suppress color shift caused by the speed fluctuations of the intermediate transfer belt 61. SOLUTION: The scale sensor 71 is fixed to a first bracket 72 to be moved together with the first bracket 72 moved by the contact and separation means not shown in the figure and a primary transfer roller 62K for K held by the first bracket 72. A distance between the intermediate transfer belt 61 and the scale detection sensor 71 is made constant regardless of a contact and separation operation for rocking the first bracket 72.
