SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus 1 adopting a reversal development system, an electrophotographic photoreceptor 2 having a photosensitive layer whose ionization potential (Ip) is ≥5.50 eV is used, whereby, for example, when the electrophotographic photoreceptor 2 is negatively charged by a charger 29 to which a negative voltage has been applied, an electrostatic latent image formed by exposure is developed with a negatively charged toner to form a toner image, and this toner image is transferred onto recording paper 23 with a transfer roll 31 to which a positive bias voltage has been applied to form an objective image, the amount of positive charges injected from the transfer roll 31 into a part of the electrophotographic photoreceptor 2 brought into direct contact with the transfer roll 31 can be reduced. The occurrence of edge fog can be therefore prevented in continuous image formation on front-back both sides of two or more sheets of recording paper 23. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
