SOLUTION: The method for producing high purity geranyl geraniol is to remove acidic components from crude geranyl geraniol prepared by extracting annatto (Bixa Orellana) seeds or its oily residue of pigment extraction, subsequently react the resultant product with a dibasic acid anhydride in a nonpolar solvent to bring the same to a hemi-esterified compound of geranyl geraniol and purify the semi-esterified compound by adsorbing with an anion exchange resin.
