PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight detecting device which can continuously detect the weight of a paper sheet conveyed at a high speed accurately, and to provide a paper sheet processing apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: The weight detecting device 10 receives the paper sheet conveyed from the upstream while the paper sheet is sandwiched by rotors 34a and 34b to detect the weight of the paper sheet. The device includes: a support 12 individually disposed on a conveyance path for conveying the paper sheet; a conveying mechanism 14 disposed on the support and for sandwiching the paper sheet with the rotor to convey it, and a weight sensor 16 for detecting the weight of the conveying mechanism during the conveyance of the paper sheet and the support; a detector 50 for detecting a conveying speed of the paper sheet in the upstream conveying mechanism on at least the upstream side farther than the support; and a control unit 52 for controlling the conveying speed of the conveying mechanism so that the conveying speed of the paper sheet by the conveying mechanism corresponds to the detected conveying speed on the basis of speed information obtained by the detector.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting method of section allocation able to achieve efficient section processing by efficiently allocating stackers, and to provide a sorting apparatus.SOLUTION: The setting method of section allocation used for section processing to permute a plurality of paper sheets includes: setting a base number to a number obtained by subtracting the number of auxiliary stackers from the total number of stackers available for section processing; setting the number of sorting destinations in the first pass of section processing to an integer equal to or lower than the half of the total number of stackers; setting the number of sorting destinations in the second pass of section processing to an integer equal to or lower than the base number, the second pass of section processing being executed to permute the sorted paper sheets in the first section processing in a given order; and storing the allocation setting information in a memory, the information showing each of the sorting destinations of the plurality of stackers allocated in the first pass and the sorting destinations of one stacker allocated in the second pass to all of section information to be processed.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processing apparatus provided with a weight detecting device capable of highly accurately detecting weight of a paper sheet which is being conveyed at a high speed.SOLUTION: A paper sheet processing apparatus comprises: an upstream side conveying mechanism which is arranged along a conveyance path and conveys a paper sheet in an upright state; a downstream side conveying mechanism which is arranged along the conveyance path and conveys the paper sheet in the upright state; and a weight detecting device 10 which is arranged on the conveyance path between the upstream side conveying mechanism and the downstream side conveying mechanism, receives the paper sheet conveyed from the upstream conveying mechanism and detects weight of the paper sheet. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet mass measuring apparatus which can increase throughput and measure the weight of a paper sheet with high precision. SOLUTION: The mass measuring apparatus 10 includes two drive rollers 2U, 2L which are arranged spaced apart from each other in the vertical direction crossing the transfer direction of mail. Torque detectors 8U, 8L are connected to servo motors 6U, 6L which rotate the rollers 2U, 2L, respectively. A control unit controls motor controllers 7U, 7L so that the drive rollers are provided with a speed difference to allow mail during transfer to rotate on its axis and detects the rotating torque of the servo motors 6U, 6L through the torque detectors 8U, 8L. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which enhances positioning accuracy of a thermal head to a platen roller.SOLUTION: The printer comprises a platen roller, a thermal head, a support part and an adjustment mechanism. The platen roller comes into contact to an intermediate transfer medium overlapped to a thermal transfer ink ribbon and moved. The thermal head is positioned facing to the platen roller, comes into contact to the thermal transfer ink ribbon for heating the thermal transfer ink ribbon. The support part is coupled to the thermal head. The adjustment mechanism comprises: a fixing screw disposed on the support part; and a movable screw screwed to the fixing screw, coupled to the thermal head, and capable of moving to the support part. Displacement of the movable screw with respect to the support part is converted into displacement of the thermal head with respect to the platen roller.
