Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program guide system which is appropriate for monitoring usage of advertisements displayed in an interactive television program guide.SOLUTION: Advertisement usage may be monitored by monitoring a time when advertisements are transmitted from a television distribution facility to a user television apparatus. Advertisement usage information may also be monitored by monitoring a time when advertisements are received by the user television apparatus. Advertisement usage information may also be monitored even while advertisements are displayed by a program guide.
