Abstract:
A holding device for holding an element in sheet form 10 during its phase of insertion into a work station 300 of a converting machine 1. The holding device 310 includes a suction member 320 able to partially hold each sheet 10 by its rear portion during insertion of the sheet 10 into the work station 300. The holding device also includes a blower 330 able to flatten the rear portion of each sheet 10 against the suction member 320 during the phase of insertion.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet braking device, both operation and maintenance work of which are easy. SOLUTION: The sheet braking device 6 for braking sheets consisting of bodies to be printed includes a plurality of circulatorily moving braking members 11 and a plurality of sheet supporting parts 10, which are arranged between both the braking members 11 and composes a blowing device 12. The sheet supporting member 10 includes a first nozzle region equipped with air nozzles and a second nozzle region equipped with air nozzles under the condition that the volume flow rate of the blowing air through the air nozzles in the first nozzle region is set to be smaller than that in the second nozzle region. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adapt sheet braking mechanism to various sheet thicknesses. SOLUTION: Sheets 3 are individually and sequentially brought into contact with at least a pulling element 24 that is moved in a feeding direction. By holding each sheet on the pulling element 24 along a feeding zone by means of the operation of a pulling device, the speed of the sheet in the feeding direction is reduced. In the method for feeding the sheets via the printing technical machine, the pulling operation of the pulling element 24 is locally changed along the feeding zones 25 and 31 in relation to the sheet thickness.
