Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver luster pigment based on a platelet substrate multilayerly coated.SOLUTION: The silver luster pigment based on a multiply-coated platelet substrate contains: (A) a high-refractive film composed of TiOand having a thickness of 5 to 200 nm; (B) a colorless film having a refractive index of n≤1.8 and a thickness of 10 to 300 nm; (C) at least one layer of a high-refractive film composed of TiOand having a thickness of 5 to 200 nm; and optionally (D) at least one outside protective layer. There are also provided the uses for production of a coating, film, printing ink including security printing inks, plastic, ceramic material, and glass thereof, and pigment preparations and dry product forms in cosmetic blends.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high corrosion-resistant flaky metal pigment having high corrosion resistance even in a strongly alkaline atmosphere and good dispersibility without losing a metallic luster color inherent to a flaky metal substrate. SOLUTION: The highly corrosion-resistant flaky metal pigment is obtained by treating the surface of the flaky metal substrate such as an aluminum flake, a titanium flake, a stainless steel flake or a bronze flake having a brilliant feeling with a phosphoric acid compound and/or a boric acid compound and further coating the surface with a layer containing silicon, aluminum, zirconium, titanium and hydrated tin oxide, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interference pigment which are universally suitable for a large number of very different application and expressing color effects which exhibit color flops, and to provide a method of preparation, and a method of using thereof. SOLUTION: The multilayered interference pigment comprises a platelet-shaped substrate which is coated with alternating layers of materials of high and low refractive index, wherein the total thickness of the interference pigment is not greater than 1 μm. The substrate includes synthetic flake, and the diameter is 1-250 μm and the thickness is 100-600 μm. The process for the preparation of these pigments, in which a substrate is coated alternately with layers of materials of high and low refractive indexes, where the thickness of the layers of materials of high and low refractive indexes are selected in such a way that the total thickness of the interference pigment does not become greater than 1 μm. The interference pigments are used in cosmetics, paints, coatings, plastics, films, in security printing, in security features in documents and identity cards, for coloring seed, for coloring foods or in medicament coatings, and for the preparation of pigments composition and dry preparations.
