PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide plant facilities that do not require a lubricating oil supplying facility that supplies lubricating oil to bearings of each rotor and a reduction gear. SOLUTION: The plant facilities are provided with a gas turbine rotor 2 of a gas turbine that is a motor driven by the expansion work of a working fluid, a generator rotor 4 of a generator 3 that is a load device rotated by rotation power from the gas turbine rotor 2, a plurality of magnetic bearings 5a-5f that support the gas turbine rotor 3 and the generator rotor 4 respectively, and an electromagnetic coupling 6 that electromagnetically couples the gas turbine rotor 2 to the generator rotor 4 and adjusts the reduction ratio of the gas turbine rotor 2 and the generator rotor 4 according to supplied power. SOLUTION: In a power transmission mechanism, power transmission from a shaft 331 side to a shaft 108 side is allowed, and the power transmission from the shaft 108 side to the shaft 331 side is cut off by a shift mechanism 400 and a one-way clutch 500. Since the shaft 331 in contact with the lip seal 333 is not rotated in a motor mode, the loss of energy recovered in a pump motor mechanism 100 is prevented at the lip seal 333. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To include a magnetic gearbox in a system for transferring torque between a pair of independently and concurrently rotating shafts of a turbofan engine. SOLUTION: The magnetic gearbox includes a first ring structure 116, a second ring structure 112 and intermediate ring structures 114b, 114c. Each ring structure has a plurality of permanent magnets embedded therein. The intermediate ring structures are disposed between the first ring structure and the second ring structure. Each ring structure is coaxially concentric with, and independently rotatable with respect to the remaining ring structures. The first and second ring structures are coupled to separate ones of the rotating engine shafts, and the intermediate ring structures are operable to transfer torque between the shafts. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system variably transferring mechanical torque between a plurality of rotating machines in a turbofan engine. SOLUTION: This system transfers mechanical torque variably between the plurality of rotating machines in the turbofan engine (10). Two devices are used, where the first device relies upon magnetic properties of a planetary magnetic gearbox (50) to couple magnetic machines. The second device is used to variably control the torque transfer between the magnetic machines. The system couples rotating shafts (52, 54) rotating at different speeds within the turbofan engine (10) for controllably transferring power. To transfer power in the system, a fixed gear ratio is obtained by coupling the relatively high- and low-speed engine shafts (52, 54) to the planetary magnetic gearbox (50).
