Abstract:
A target digital image is received from an image sensor. The image is contaminated by noise of unknown magnitude that is represented by a reference digital image. A process is applied that uses statistical analysis of the target digital image and of the reference digital image to estimate a magnitude of the noise for at least some pixels of the target digital image.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To definitely acquire a distance to a subject at various parts of a photographed image to perform defocusing process on the basis of the distance.SOLUTION: A distance information acquisition method comprises: when a photometric switch S1 is turned on (S100), storing a through-the-lens image at each of a plurality of positions in a memory with driving lenses to focus on the positions (S102); focusing on an in-focus position obtained by auto focusing (S104); when a release switch S2 is turned on, photographing a primary image at the in-focus position; acquiring information of a distance to a subject in each of the stored through-the-lens images to create a distance map and providing the distance map with filtering for noise rejection to a degree corresponding to a degree of camera shake (S114); creating a mask on the basis of the filtered distance map (S116); and perform defocusing process corresponding to the distance to the subject (S118).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image having undergone optimal electronic correction of camera shake.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: image acquisition control means which acquires plural continuous photographic images by an imaging element; image resizing means which changes the image size of each of the photographic images obtained by the image acquisition control means, to an image size set on the basis of photographic information on at least one photographic image of the plural photographic images; motion vector detection means which detects a motion vector between the respective photographic images on the basis of a resized image obtained by the image resizing means; and composition means which corrects the resized image on the basis of the motion vector information detected by the motion vector detection means and superimposes the corrected resized images on one another.
