    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine for vehicle which can reconcile the security of strength to the centrifugal force of a permanent magnet and an improvement in output.
    SOLUTION: An alternator 1 for vehicle includes a rotor 2, which has a pair of pole cores 22 and 23 where a plurality of claws 22A and 23A are formed severally and a plurality of permanent magnets 29 which are magnetized in a direction of preventing leaked magnetic flux and are arranged between the claws 22A and 23A of the pair of pole cores 22 and 23, and a stator 3, which faces the rotor 2. In the several claws 22A and 23A of the pair of pole cores 22 and 23, flanges 22B and 23B, which restrict the shift to the outside of the permanent magnet 29, are formed in a form of jutting out radially from the outside end, and the flanges 22B and 23B are thicker in radial direction as they go from the tips to the bases.
