Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency second harmonic oscillator capable of reducing phase noise regardless of a deterioration factor of the phase noise. SOLUTION: The high frequency second harmonic oscillator includes: a transistor; a first electric signal line connected to a base side of the transistor; a first shunt capacitor connected to the first electric signal line and having another terminal being grounded; a second electric signal line connected to a collector side of the transistor; a second shunt capacitor connected to the second electric signal line and having another terminal being grounded; and a bulk capacitor connecting the first electric signal line and the second electric signal line. A line length of the first electric signal line is a value between a length which is obtained by subtracting a length of 1/16 wavelength of a fundamental wave signal from a length of an odd multiple of a 1/4 wavelength value of the fundamental wave signal, and a length which is obtained by adding the length of 1/16 wavelength of the fundamental wave signal to the length of the odd multiple of the 1/4 wavelength value of the fundamental wave signal. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimode VCO which includes a function to absorb phase hits over a tuning range of operation and operates reliably at a low cost. SOLUTION: A tunable oscillator includes a first transistor, a second transistor connected in parallel with the first transistor, a noise feedback and bias network coupled to the first and the second transistors, a planar coupled resonator network coupled to the first and the second transistors, and a means for dynamically tuning the resonant frequency of the planar coupled resonator network and the junction capacitance of the first and the second transistors. The dynamic tuning means has a plurality of capacitive elements coupled so as to lie astride each junction of the first and the second transistors. The capacitive element has a varactor diode coupled in series to a first capacitor and a second capacitor coupled in series to the varactor diode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
