Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of easily maintaining and managing a convey path and a read portion, in relation to an image reading device for reading an image of a document while conveying the document along a convey path.SOLUTION: This image reading device 1 includes an automatic document convey device 20 in a cover unit 15. The automatic document convey device 20 reads an image by a second image reading portion 50 while conveying the document in a document tray 16 to a paper ejection tray 17 along a U-shaped turn convey path 30. The automatic document convey device 20 includes an opening/closing unit 25 turnably. When the opening/closing unit 25 is moved to an opening position, a first convey path 31 and a part of a curved convey path 32 are opened, and the second image reading portion 50 is exposed. The opening/closing unit 25 includes a metallic document holding member 70 and a metallic pressing member 75. When the opening/closing unit 25 is moved to a closing position, a cover-side contact part 78 formed at an end of the pressing member 75 contacts a body-side contact member 80 arranged on the cover unit 15, and functions as the earth.
Abstract:
There is provide a reading/recording apparatus capable of ensuring that a reading device and a recording device do not collide when the apparatus is miniaturized to thereby protect the reading unit and the recording unit by having the reading device and the recording device share a moving space on a shared conveying path used as both a conveying path for an original and a conveying path for a recording sheet. The original is conveyed to a reading position on the shared conveying path. The reading unit is freely movable between the reading position and a reading standby position away from the reading position, and reads an image of the original at the reading position. The recording medium is conveyed to a recording position on the shared conveying path. The recording unit moves within the same space on the shared conveying path as the reading unit, is freely movable between the recording position and a recording standby position away from the recording position, and records an image on the recording medium at the recording position. The reading unit is moved from the reading position to the reading standby position after a reading operation by the reading unit has been completed.
Abstract:
A sheet transfer apparatus for an image reading apparatus includes a sheet supply tray for storing a sheet; a sheet supply device for drawing out the sheet on the sheet supply tray; a transfer device for receiving the sheet from the sheet supply means and placing the sheet at a predetermined position on a platen of an image reading apparatus for reading the image thereon; a discharge device for discharging the sheet on the platen after reading the image thereon; and a discharge tray for receiving the sheet discharged by the discharge device. A switchback device is disposed above the platen for reversing the sheet when necessary, and includes a switchback path for receiving the sheet to reverse the same. The switchback path includes a first opening portion for opening a first area near an inlet side, and a second opening portion for opening a second area away from the inlet side of the switchback path. The switchback path is easily accessible when the sheet is jammed.
Abstract:
A medium transporting apparatus includes a first transport member and a movable guide member. The first transport member transports a medium in the medium transport direction. The movable guide member comes into contact with and guides the medium transported by the first transport member along a medium transport path. The movable guide member is also movable from a first position to a second position downstream of the first position in the medium transport direction.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost and size by reducing the quantity of feed parts for feeding documents or members to be recorded in a sheet processing device having a reading part and a recording part. SOLUTION: This sheet processing device comprises the feed parts for feeding the documents or the members to be recorded, the reading part for reading the documents, and the recording part for recording in the members to be recorded. The documents or the members to be recorded fed from the feed parts 20, 30 are selectively fed to the reading part 10 or the recording part 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to carry out stable conveying and image forming even in a medium to be recorded which may be changed in the thickness and size of envelopes or others by providing a means carrying out control according to the change of the thickness in the conveying direction of the medium to be recorded based on the change of the change of the thickness in the conveying direction of the medium to be recorded. SOLUTION: The control is carried out according to the condition of the envelope and the flap such as gap adjust, print mode alteration, temporary stop in front of a printing section, print start position shift, conveying error detecting alteration, print regulation to the flap, alteration of discharging paper conveying path, by detecting that the conveyed sheet like member is the envelope or article other than the envelope and detecting that a flap is opened or closed in the case of the envelope, by detecting the thickness of the sheet like member conveyed by a thickness detecting sensor 319 arranged in the vicinity of a resist roller 44 to detect the change of the thickness of the sheet like member. Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make the device compact and to cope simply with a trouble such as jum of an original, by constituting a reading optical system unit separately from a device main body. CONSTITUTION:An original 1 to be read is inserted with reading plane R upside. The reflected light of the original 1 lighted with a irradiating light source 6 is reflected with the 1st mirror 27 to the direction horizontal to the original 1 and to the direction opposite to the carrying direction of the original 1, and reflected at a right angle to the carrying direction of the original 1 with the 2nd mirror 28 and the image is formed on a photodetector 9, e.g., a on CCD with a lens 8. An electric signal formed from the photodetector 9 in response to a picture is transmitted after being converted into an output signal by an electronic circuit on a printed circuit board 10 and copied. The reading optical system unit is provided fixedly on the board and separated from the main body of device.
