Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain cost reduction of a paper sheet carriage device provided with an automatic reversal function of a paper sheet. SOLUTION: Rotation of a drive pulley MP of a motor is transmitted to a carriage roller 51 when a first planetary gear 13 is engaged with a gear 16, or a secondary planetary gear 14 is engaged with the gear 16 through an idle gear 15. The carriage roller 51 constantly rotates in a normal rotation direction C in accordance with rotation of the motor independent from the rotation direction of the motor. A locking member 17 keeps such a state that a first planetary rocking body 12 is locked at a rocking position in which the second planetary gear 14 is engaged with the gear 16 through the idle gear 15 with the locking member 17 fitted on a projection 122 of the first planetary rocking body 12. A paper sheet carried to a carriage path EC presses a lever 171 to rock the locking member 17, thus releasing locking of the first planetary rocking body 12 by the locking member 17. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly accumulate documents on a paper-discharging tray part 14 in an upper position in the same order of accumulation as on a paper-feeding tray part 13 in a lower position; and to increase the number of documents which can be accumulated. SOLUTION: The documents discharged from a U-turn-shaped conveyance part are accumulated on the paper-discharging tray part 14. A plurality of rotors 55 are provided at positions on flat-plate-like support plates 54 formed on upper parts of a pair of document guide plates 13a except their discharging upstream ends so as to decrease frictional resistance when the following document is inserted between the lowest document and the support plates 54. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the risk of jamming when performing a hand-feed sheet feeding in the middle of automatic sheet feeding operation, without impairing the operating efficiency in hand feeding. SOLUTION: An image recording device has a hand feed tray 30 in such a way as to be capable of being changed over between the stored condition and the service condition. When in the stored condition, the automatic feeding is selected, and a shutter is put in the close position to hinder a recording medium from intruding into a medium transporting path 16 through a hand feed path 18. When in the service condition, on the other hand, the hand feed mode is selected, and the shutter is put in the open position to enable the recording medium 12 to intrude into the medium transporting path through the hand feed path. If the hand feed tray is changed over from the stored condition to the service condition in the middle of the automatic sheet feeding operation, it is stopped in emergency, or an alarm is issued to notify that the operation is under auto-feeding. After turning the hand feed tray from the stored condition to the service condition, auto-feeding is prohibited. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
A method of feeding material to be scanned to, and ejecting such material from, a scanning system is provided. The scanning system receives, ejects and transports carrying material to be scanned. Two such transports are provided, to permit material to be scanned on one transport while the material on the other transport is changed and/or modified. The transports are fed into the scanning system from a bed and are received from the system on rails. The rails are above the bed. The bed and rails are in one vertical position when transports are fed from the bed into the scanning system and at another vertical position when a transport is ejected from the scanning system onto the rails. A transport may be dropped from the rails to the bed.
