Abstract:
The present invention provides an image processor (3001) capable of preventing illegal copying of a document. An information extracting unit (6032) first extracts information from a barcode in a first region of document image data. Then, the information extracting unit (6032) extracts information from a barcode in a second region of the document image data if the information is extracted from the barcode in the first region. On the other hand, if the information is not extracted from the barcode in the first region, the information extracting unit (6032) does not extract the information from the barcode in the second region of the document image data. This enables a copying operation for a document consisting of a plurality of pages to be efficiently controlled.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an associated information adding apparatus and method for adding information associated with image data as an electronic watermark to the image data, and an associated information detecting apparatus and method for detecting the associated information. Particularly, the apparatus includes a memory for storing a unit watermark, a unit watermark repeating section for repeatedly reading the unit watermark from the memory by using a surplus obtained by dividing a pixel position coordinate value of a pixel in a vertical direction and a horizontal direction of an image by a size of a vertical and horizontal repetitive unit of the unit watermark, and an adding section for adding the unit watermark read out from the unit watermark repeating section to information of the image so that the unit watermark is repeated vertically and horizontally on the image. By this, since it is sufficient if the memory stores only the unit watermark, there is an effect that the memory to be used may be small.
Abstract:
A recording unit (106) records a composite image information generated by embedding invisible security information in visible human facial image on a recording medium (M). An extraction unit (112) extracts a spatial frequency component unique to key information from the recorded composite image information. A reconstructing unit (113) reconstructs the security information from extracted spatial frequency component. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) image processing apparatus; and (2) image processing method.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embed information in image data and to stably detect the information from a printed matter of the image data, so that the embedded information is hard to be visually discriminated and can be detected even when working such as copying or cutting is performed after printing. SOLUTION: A detection means 101 detects a figure pattern area in which a figure pattern 113 representing information 112 to be embedded or the position of an area wherein the information 112 to be embedded exists from an area other than the background of image data 111. An embedding means 102 embeds the figure pattern 113 in the detected figure pattern area to generate data 114 embedded with a watermark. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for encoding a message into a document containing known information. SOLUTION: The method comprises identifying a plurality of logical information content categories associated with the known information (1502); establishing a priority order in which the message is to be added to each of the categories (1503); determining the amount of the message to be added to each of the categories (1504); and encoding the message with respect to the document in accordance with the established priority order and the determined amount (1506). Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watermark information embedding apparatus capable of remarkably enhancing the information recording density by expressing information with simple lines and points. SOLUTION: The watermark information embedding apparatus for embedding information to an image by electronic watermark technology includes: a coding section 11 for coding embedding information to be embedded to the image; a pattern assignment section 12 for assigning a pattern to each symbol of the coded embedding information; and a watermark embedded image composite section 13 for regularly arranging the pattern corresponding to the embedding information to the image, and it is characterized in that one or two or more patterns having a prescribed spatial period are assigned to each symbol. Abstract:
A document authentication method uses a watermark added in a printed document to detection possible alterations made to the document after it was printed. First, a visible watermark in the form of a dot pattern is overlapped with an original digital image. The watermarked image is printed out as a halftone image at a first resolution. The watermark in the printed document appears as a light gray shade. Later, the printed document is scanned back using a grayscale scan at a resolution higher than the first resolution. In the scanned image, altered areas would appear flat (lacking intensity variation) whereas unaltered areas will have relatively large density variations due to the watermark dots and the fact that the image was halftone printed at a lower resolution. Alternations are detected by identifying flat areas within the image using a combination of flat block detection and a multiple thresholds method.
