SOLUTION: This pearly tone glossy pigment is obtained by coating iron oxide and/or titanium dioxide on the surface of a scale-shaped glass base substrate having an A-glass composition or E-glass composition having 0.1-20 μm mean thickness and 5-2,000 μm mean particle diameter. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop and apply a new cosmetic composition having high bleaching effect or skin antiaging effect. SOLUTION: This cosmetic composition comprises (A) one or more kinds of squaric acid or salt(s) thereof and (B) one or more organic acids. A 2nd version of this cosmetic composition comprises the components A and B and also (C) a polyhydric alcohol or fatty acid ester. The 1st version of this composition has melanogenesis inhibitory activity, antioxidative activity, collagen production promoting activity, MMP( collagenase or elastase ) production inhibitory activity and skin resiliency improving effect, therefore having significant bleaching effect and skin antiaging effect.
