PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical glass having a low glass transition temperature (Tg) and a high refractive index low dispersibility, excellent in chemical durability, especially in detergent resistance, and suitable for precision mold press molding. SOLUTION: This optical glass contains 3-9% SiO 2 , not less than 9.5% but less than 18% B 2 O 3 , 0-3% Li 2 O, 33-45% La 2 O 3 , 3-18% Gd 2 O 3 , 5-7% ZrO 2 , 0.1-3% Nb 2 O 5 , and 15-25% Ta 2 O 5 , but the total of Ta 2 O 5 +Nb 2 O 5 is 16-25%, and contains the following each component in the range of 0-3% WO 3 and/or 0-10% ZnO and/or 0-5% RO (R=Mg, Ca, Sr, or Ba) and/or 0-1% Sb 2 O 3 in mass% based on oxides, and contains no F component. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion resistant glass member having sufficient corrosion resistance against a halogen gas, excellent workability, small Al contamination and low in selective corrosion causing the occurrence of particles. SOLUTION: A part of the corrosion resistant glass member where exposed by the halogen gas contains 50-1,000 wt.ppm Al and has a melt-treated surface. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide substrate glass for a multilayered film filter which excels in workability and weatherability and gives therefore inexpensive and less apt to deteriorate multilayered films and the multilayered film filter. SOLUTION: The substrate glass for the multilayered film filter is characterized in that the polishing speed by a lapping method is ≥10 μm/min, the mass decreased in a boiling water bath is ≤0.05 wt%/hr, and the mass decrease in an aqueous nitric acid solution of 0.01N is ≤020 wt%/hr.
