PURPOSE: A copolymerizable polyester resin composition is provided to have excellent physical properties including mechanical property, and excellent thermal properties including thermal resistance and flame retardance, and to have excellent transparency, thereby capable of using for manufacturing molded products requiring transparency like exterior of electronic components. CONSTITUTION: A copolymerizable polyester resin composition comprises 92.3-99.05 weight% of polyester resin, 0.65-6.5 weight% of a phosphorous-containing flame retardant improver in chemical formula 1, and 0.05-1.2 weight% of a scratch-resistance improver in chemical formula 2 or chemical formula 3. The polyester resin is a copolymer of a polyethylene terephthalate resin and poly ethylene naphthalate resin, or polyethylene naphthalate resin. The flame retardance improver is arylphosiphinyl-carboxylic acid or derivatives thereof selected from 3-hydroxyphenyl phosphinyl propane carboxylic acid, [(2'-hydroxymethyl)-3-hydroxyphenylphosphinylpropane ester.

PURPOSE: Polyester/polycarbonate blend is provided to have color-b of 4 or less, thereby having excellent color stability(transparency) and thermal stability(thermal resistance), and to be economic by including polyethylene terephthalate. CONSTITUTION: Polyester/polycarbonate blend comprises: poly(ethylene terephthalate-co-1,4-cyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate) in which 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol is copolymerized; polyethylene terephthalate; polycarbonate; and germanium. The whole polyester/polycarbonate blend comprises 50-90 weight% of ethylene terephthalate-co-1,4-cyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate and polyethylene terephthalate, the content of the polyethylene terephthalate is 1-6 times to the poly(ethylene terephthalate-co-1,4-cyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate), and the content of the polycarbonate is 10-50 weight%.

A container made by reheat stretch blow molding process comprises a poly(ethylene terephthalate) copolymer including levels of diethylene glycol lower than that generated as a byproduct in conventional resin manufacturing process and minor amounts of naphthalenedicarboxylic acid resulting in containers which exhibit enhanced mechanical properties. Methods for making the contains and hot filling the containers are also disclosed.

PURPOSE: A method is to provide a polyethylene naphthalene polymer with excellent color and properties while reducing the required time for esterification and polycondensation reactions. CONSTITUTION: A method includes esterifying a dicarboxylic acid or a derivative thereof mainly comprising 2,6-dicarboxylic acid, or a dicarboxylic acid ester or a derivative thereof mainly comprising 2,6-dicarboxylic acid with ethylene glycol or a glycol mainly comprising ethylene glycol, or a derivative thereof, to obtain an ester mainly comprising bis(beta-hydroxyethyl)naphthalate or a lower polymer thereof; and subjecting the ester to polycondensation reaction to obtain the target polyethylene naphthalate polymer. The esterification catalyst used is a mixed catalyst of titanium compound, aromatic phosphite compound and antimony compound.
