    Abstract: The static mixing device for a flowing medium includes a tubular shell (4) and at least one mixing element (3) arranged in the shell, the structural elements of which mixing element are essentially bridges (11, 12, 21, 22).     Abstract: PURPOSE: A static mixer for a low viscosity fluid is provided to contain built-in devices arranged in a pipe or in a container conducting the fluid for effectively mixing the fluid. CONSTITUTION: The mixer includes a plurality of primary flow obstacles(11,11',12) disposed to define constrictions therebetween for a flow of viscous fluid(20) therethrough and to impart a flow of a first order in the flow of viscous fluid passing through the constrictions. The primary flow obstacle has a geometrically modified area at least one of a surface thereof and an edge thereof to induce local flows of a second order in the flow of viscous fluid passing thereover. The local flows of the second order are superimposed on the flows of the first order to compensate radial and axial inhomogeneities in the viscous fluid produced by the flow of the first order.
