Abstract:
The device is a cigar cutter with four separate blades capable of cutting a cigar tip into four V-shape slices, all in one motion. The device comprises a housing, a cover, a left handle, a right handle, a top lifter, a bottom lifter, and four blades. The left-side and right-side blades are integrated into the left and right handles, respectively. The top and bottom blades are integrated into the top and bottom lifters, respectively. The four blades surround the cigar opening, positioned 90° apart from each other. The top and bottom blades are mechanically linked to the left handle, such that a lateral movement of the left handle corresponds with a vertical movement of the top and bottom blades. Thus, the user can activate all four blades in one motion with one hand.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for capturing carbon dioxide from dilute sources are disclosed. In some embodiments, the methods include the following: (a) directing a first substantially gaseous stream including a first amount of carbon dioxide to a primary scrubber; (b) in the primary scrubber, removing a portion of the first amount of carbon dioxide thereby forming a second substantially gaseous stream including a second amount of carbon dioxide; (c) directing the second substantially gaseous stream to a secondary scrubber; (d) in the secondary scrubber, removing a portion of the second amount of carbon dioxide thereby forming a third substantially gaseous stream; (e) mixing substantially all of the portion of the second amount of carbon dioxide removed in step (d) with the first substantially gaseous stream before it enters the primary scrubber; and (f) repeating steps (a) thru (e).
Abstract:
A method of operating a data network may include establishing a data path through the data network between a routing gateway and service provider equipment providing a data service. Moreover, the data service may be provided for use at the routing gateway over the data path during a data session. A request may be received from the service provider equipment where the request defines a data flow characteristic for the data path between the routing gateway and the service provider equipment providing the data service. The data flow characteristic may then be transmitted to a network element along the data path between the routing gateway and the service provider equipment. A request from service provider equipment can include an allowed bandwidth or prioritization. Related methods, data networks, data service providers, routing gateways, and computer program products are also discussed.
Abstract:
A health monitoring system is provided for a vehicle with an identity configured to travel on a surface. The system includes a body positioned on the surface and configured to stimulate a dynamic response from the vehicle as the vehicle travels over the body; a response sensor associated with the body and configured to measure the dynamic response from the vehicle; and an identification sensor associated with the body and configured to collect data corresponding to the identity of the vehicle.
Abstract:
Touchscreen testing techniques are described. In one or more implementations, a piece of conductor (e.g., metal) is positioned as proximal to a touchscreen device and the touchscreen device is tested by simulating a touch of a user. This technique may be utilized to perform a variety of different testing of a touchscreen device, such as to test latency and probabilistic latency. Additional techniques are also described including contact geometry testing techniques.
Abstract:
A method of operating a data network may include establishing a data path through the data network between a routing gateway for a subscriber of the data network and a service provider providing a data service. Moreover, the data service may be provided for use at the routing gateway over the data path during a data session. A request may be received from the service provider wherein the request defines a data flow characteristic for the data path between the routing gateway and the service provider providing the data service during the data session. The data flow characteristic may then be transmitted to a node along the data path between the routing gateway and the service provider for enforcement of the data flow characteristic for the data path at the node. More particularly, the data session may be a point-to-point protocol data session. Related methods, data networks, data service providers, routing gateways, and computer program products are also discussed.

Abstract:
Methods, systems and/or computer program products are provided for managing Quality of Service (QoS) and/or bandwidth allocation in a Regional/Access Network (RAN) having a broadband access server (BRAS) that facilitates differentiated end-to-end data transport between a Network Service Provider (NSP) and/or an Application Service Provider (ASP), and a Customer Premises Network (CPN) that includes a Routing Gateway (RG). In particular embodiments of the present invention, a modify QoS and/or bandwidth allocation message including updated QoS and/or bandwidth information from the NSP and/or ASP is received at the RAN. The BRAS is updated with the QoS and/or bandwidth information and the RG is also updated with the QoS and/or bandwidth information.
Abstract:
An automotive fluid filter comprises a plurality of pellets that are sintered together and define a plurality of pores therebetween for passage of automotive fluid through the pores so as to filter the automotive fluid when the automotive fluid is advanced therethrough. An associated method is disclosed.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge includes a filter media having opposed edges. Annular end discs include first and second surfaces defined by spaced apart planes. The end discs has an integrated gasket, and is formal from includes first and second plastisol materials that have different durometers. The durometer of the second plastisol material makes it more rigid than the first plastisol material. The first plastisol material provides a flexible gasket. During manufacture, each edge of the filter media is embedded into the second material on an end disc. The second plastisol material is arranged between the planes, and the first plastisol material extends axially away from the second surface.
