摘要: The protective athletic pad includes padding, which extends across the knee or elbow, and along front and sides of the lower leg or forearm, to further protect the user from abrasion, cuts and bruises while actively engaged in a sport or other strenuous activity. Opposing U-shaped relief openings are provided adjacent to the opposing sides of a user's knee or elbow to increase flexibility. The adjustable protective athletic pad protects the front portion of the user's knee. The athletic pad extends to the user's lower leg and shin, or to the user's lower arm, to protect against abrasion, burns or cuts resulting from falling, or sliding on the ground during strenuous athletic activity. The opposing sides of the athletic pad are adjustably secured with hook and loop fasteners to provide adjustable tension and positioning of the athletic pad. Unlike conventional knee or elbow braces, the fabric and straps used to support the resilient padding are not elastic, enabling the user to adjust the protective athletic pad to suit for ease of running.

摘要: A data management system includes a server system and a data forwarding unit for forwarding data to the server system via a public network. The server system includes a storage system for storing data, an information system for storing information on data managed by the data management system, and a plurality of interfaces for accessing the server system via the public network. When the data forwarding unit receives data, identification information on the received data is sent to the information system via one of the plurality of interfaces selected by the data forwarding unit in accordance with a set of predetermined rules. In response to receiving identification information from the data forwarding unit, the information system sends communication information for one of the plurality of interfaces selected by the information system in accordance with a set of predetermined rules. Using the communication information, the data forwarding unit forwards the received data to the storage system for storage via the interface selected by the information system.

摘要: A digital control system for controlling the flow of traffic in selected directions in response to digital signals transmitted from a common transmitting control unit to multiple separate receiving traffic control units respectively associated with each controlled direction. The transmitting unit includes a transmitter and digital command code generator operative when actuated to transmit a character in the form of a digital signal specific for one of the receiving units. Each receiving unit includes traffic control indicators operative in different modes of display indications visible to traffic flowing in the direction to be controlled by that unit. Each receiving unit further includes a receiver operative to deliver demodulated characters based on codes transmitted by the transmitting unit, and the codes controlling a microprocessor programmed to process the received characters to initiate command outputs, and logic circuitry connected to receive said outputs and responsive thereto to display traffic control indications as determined by the local unit's demodulated characters, each unit keeping a model of what is being displayed by other units in the system and using it to prevent conflicting traffic control indications.

摘要: An electro-mechanical lock which includes a housing having right and left side cavities in which a latch block may be selectively mounted to cooperatively retain a tongue extending from a door or gate which slides or swings from either the left or right side. The latch block includes a pivotable "J" latch which is engageable within a slot in the tongue extending from a gate or door to be locked as the tongue engages the "J" latch as the gate or door is closed. A latch retainer is operable to secure the latch in an engaged position with the tongue and is retractable by a solenoid or mechanical element controlled by a key operated cylinder to release the "J" latch and allow opening of the gate or door.

摘要: A business method provides access to digital medical image data generated by up to a plurality of imaging facilities to a payer. The business method includes receiving digital medical image data generated by the imaging facilities using a gateway at each imaging facility. The received-digital medical image data is transmitted from the gateway to a central server via a network and stored at the central server. The payer is then provided access to the stored digital medical image data via the network for a fee.

摘要: A surge protection device for low level electronic systems and especially conventional roadway traffic monitoring equipment connected to embedded roadway sensors, which includes, for each sensor, first and second stage common mode and normal mode surge arrestor circuits and which stages are connected by a common mode choke in series with the sensor circuit and monitoring equipment. The first and second stage surge arrestor circuits and choke are preferably mounted on surge arrestor circuit boards having enlarged conductive traces and peripheral ground contact surfaces which enable large surge currents to pass to ground when the boards are mounted to a common grounding backplane.
