Abstract: A method is described for processing distributed acoustic sensing seismic data including receiving, at one or more processors, DAS seismic data, converting the DAS seismic data into pressure data, and processing the pressure data is disclosed. The converting may be done by performing a spatial integral of the DAS seismic data along a DAS cable to get a particle velocity, and performing a spatial derivative of the particle velocity along the DAS cable and a temporal integral to generate the pressure data. The pressure data may then be processed by methods including but not limited to performing reverse time migration to generate a seismic image.

Abstract: A method is described for generating distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) vertical seismic profile (VSP) data including receiving, at one or more processing cores, synthetic DAS acquisition parameters; modeling synthetic pressure-field data; augmenting the synthetic pressure-field data using reciprocity to generate an augmented dataset; sorting the augmented dataset into pressure-field common shot gathers; and converting the pressure-field common shot gathers to strain-rate DAS VSP data. The converting may be done by taking a spatial derivative of pressure along a DAS cable; performing a temporal integral to find particle velocity along the DAS cable; and taking a spatial derivative of the partial velocity along the DAS cable to convert the pressure-field common shot gathers to strain-rate DAS VSP data.

Abstract: A method for evaluating performance of a choke valve includes collecting baseline performance data for the choke valve during a first time period; establishing a relationship between a flow area and positions of the choke valve for the first time period; collecting measurements of parameters associated with the choke valve during a second time period; generating a predicted flow area of the choke valve during a second time period;, generating an estimated flow area through the choke valve during the second time period using the relationship established during the first time period; comparing the estimated flow area with the predicted flow area for the second time period; and determining that the performance of the choke valve is no longer within the range of acceptable performance values when a difference between the estimated and predicted flow areas for the second time period falls outside a range of threshold values.

Abstract: A method is described for seismic amplitude analysis that uses a set of artificial and individually separable reflectors consistent with dip fields in the subsurface volume of interest to define an AVA basis functions; the AVA basis functions are used in true-3D AVA modeling and true-3D AVA inversion. The inversion result and well logs representative of the subsurface volume of interest are used to train a model to create a rock property prediction model. The method may apply the rock property prediction model to a second seismic image to generate a rock property volume. The method is executed by a computer system.

Abstract: A cartridge sampler for collecting a target species from an environment for subsequent chemical analysis includes removable collection media having at least one molecule sensor thereon. The cartridge sampler includes a means for tagging a geospatial location and time that the fluid samples are provided to the collection media such that the location and time that the fluid samples are provided to the collection media can be later determined. Also disclosed are systems and methods for collecting species from various environments including a subsurface formation, a pipeline, and gaseous, soil or sub-slab, and aqueous environments. The cartridge sampler is fitted on or within a device designed for moving within each environment.

Abstract: A method for remotely evaluating fatigue damage of a subsea wellhead may include obtaining a plurality of values associated with measurements of a parameter associated with the fatigue damage of the subsea wellhead during field operations, wherein the measurements are measured by a sensor device positioned separately from and adjacent to the subsea wellhead; executing an algorithm using the measurements to generate a result; comparing the result of the algorithm with a range of acceptable values; and determining that the subsea wellhead has a potential failure when the result falls outside the range of acceptable values.
