    Abstract: A system and method for storing and retrieving preconfigured, hidden SyncML server profiles on a client is described. Conventionally, users of client devices need to manually configure the devices to allow for synchronization with new servers via SyncML. Preconfigured SyncML profiles allow a client to synchronize with a SyncML server without having to generate a new SyncML profile, thereby improving user experience. The preconfigured SyncML profiles may be hidden from a user or displayable to a user.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method in which a message is received to a communication server from a node. The communication server obtains user information with recipient information in the message. The user information comprises user entity state and user entity protocol information. A first protocol is determined to become a preferred protocol based on the user entity protocol information. The delivery of said message is attempted with a delivery mechanism of the preferred protocol. A second protocol is determined to become the preferred protocol with said user entity protocol information upon a failure to deliver said message with said first protocol. The attempting of the delivery of said message is repeated with a delivery mechanism of the preferred protocol.

    Abstract: An apparatus for providing motion estimation for video encoding includes a selection element and a processing element. The selection element is configured to select a subset including less than all of candidate pixel locations from among a plurality of candidate pixel locations used for motion vector determination based on a relationship between a best candidate pixel location of a first level of accuracy and a best candidate pixel location of a second level of accuracy. The processing element is configured to process an input video sequence to determine a motion vector at the first level of accuracy, to refine the motion vector at the second level of accuracy, and to determine the motion vector at a third level of accuracy using only the subset of candidate pixel locations.
